One of the differences in the two movies is that Ross Hunter didn't produce the second one DR ELMORE.....he would have probably taken care of a couple of your difficulties.....

I've never seen Lover Come Back -- at least, not all the way through. In fact, I may have only seen a tiny bit of it once in channel surfing.

EDIT: It's funny, though, because I remember a couple of friends highly touting it as the most "outrageous" of those films. But whatever little snippet I saw, it obviously didn't result in my rushing out to watch it. If it comes along on TCM or something, I'll put it on for whatever the good parts are. In the meantime, I'd like to extend a laurel and hearty thank you to DR Elmore for taking one for the team.

I forgot until I got back to feed the cat. Well, Mama was hissing as usual when I came out, but when she saw the Meow Mix, she actually came up to me as I stood by her dish. And started eating without me having to leave. The babies were running all over the place.

Actually, it's the John Wilson Orchestra at the Proms. This is the only recording in good sound of the entire original Broadway production number arranged by Trude Rittman.

This has been a dreadful morning of frustration. I've called my HMO twice for account info and each time I've tried to speak to a customer service re, the line goes dead. I called Suad about finishing up this unemployment business and she was offto a meeting so I'm waiting on a return call. My printer keeps going offline. Agh!

Listening to the Bernstein Mahler 2. Gorgeous, even if the sound is scratchy at times. I didn't realize it was a reaction to the JFK assassination.

I can't imagine programming something like that on national TV today, except on ONE.
