So I went to Dollar Tree today for a few things.  They had masks, so I got two packages - four masks total.

I decided I was going to go to Goodwill since I hadn't been since March or April.....

But it was too early....they don't open until nine.  So I stopped at Meijer to buy some bananas.

Of course I had my mask on.  I put my bananas in a bag and weighed them.....$2.55 worth.  I headed for the checkout, but only one was open so I walked toward the self check.  I was stopped by a woman who said:  "This is only for people with carts....you can use the checkout."

I said...."Oh, well there's only one open and there's a line....and....well....bananas....."

She said:  "It says carts only on the sign."  She pointed and indeed it did.....say.....carts only.....

Then she said: "Well we have to take a break sometime.  The girl had been on the register for two hours."

There was a lady standing behind me watching this all with much interest and said:  "Two hours......imagine....."

So I tried to decide if I wanted to put my bananas in a cart or go stand in line....I went to stand in line with the lady customer behind me.  She said:  "That was odd."

I said: "Well now I remember why I don't usually come in here."

With the that lady at the self checkout opened a line and took me in.  But of course her register "froze up" and she had to have someone come and do something.

BUT I didn't have to worry about being at the Goodwill too early.  It was open when I got there.  I bought a book about Ocean Liners and two CD's.

THE END.

Carts only at self checkout!  That is odd.  It is much easier to do it when you only have a few items than a cart full of stuff.

So, I just had to make Symphony Bar Brownies today. A friend told me about these last week. You make your brownie batter. Put half in the pan. The layer Symphony Bars over the top. Cover with the remaining batter. Bake.

They are excellent.

I had to look up the candy bars having no clue what they were.  I probably don't know because I stopped eating Hershey's when I got GERD.

So irritated right now - went to the mail place to get a package I knew had been delivered.  They handed me a package so I came home  but it was NOT the package that had been delivered, it was some other package.  So, now I don't get that package until tomorrow and I wanted it today.  I'll now eat something but I am so annoyed with the mail place because they do this all the time - they don't scan stuff in and therefore don't know it's there.

I would think you would make a habit of checking your packages match your expectations.  Did you forget to do that today?

Sauteed chicken, green beans, onions, and mushrooms and served over rice.  Very good.

Meijer is the only grocery store I know with an HOA.

I like to sauté Vidalia onions with fresh mushrooms then add some chicken stock and halfed  cherry or grape tomatoes. Set aside and keep warm

In same pan brown chicken breasts  on both sides

Then add the cooked veggies and some Marsala wine and cover and simmer on low until the chicken is cooked through

Very nice over rice or egg noodles or even mashed spuds

Sometimes I get fancy and melt sliced Swiss or Muenster or smoked mozzarella on top of the cutlets just before serving

Picked up enchiladas verdes for dinner tonight. Love them. And these were very good.

We went to Costco today.

Once again I did not find any sanitizer wipes.

As we walked in I asked why the person ahead of me was permitted in with his mask below his nose.
I saw one other person wearing their mask like that, both young men.  Everyone else, including children, wore their masks correctly.

I'm still at work...not for very much longer (a The Rocky Horror Show reference). ;)

Finished digging one post hole in the heat. I think it's deep enough. The pole is below the fence top but there's still enough to fasten it to the fence.

I was just thinking that maybe I could watch it while working tomorrow. I used to be able to do that when I worked from home.

I was very bad when I went to the grocery store. I bought a bag of cherry-mango popsicles. I've eaten more than half of them in two days. It's been so hot and they're so refreshing, but bad for me.

I feel your pain.  I had a couple of gift cards for See's Candy and the two-pound box arrived last week.  I haven't eaten it all, but I've had more than one piece of candy a day. ::)

I do not comprehend how one day we can get to page eleven with well over 200 posts, and other days we're on page three at 9:00 PDT.
