Actually, I think I would make a good desk clerk/concierge.  All those details to keep track of - and always a new "day" whenever a new guest checks in.  Never a dull moment.

I've always wondered who sang for Marianne McAndrew.  Does anyone know?  It's not listed in the album or the CD...I haven't checked the DVD, but I'd assume it's not there, either.

But I am miffed that BK has not informed us of his appointment as Vice President, Therapeutic Applications, at Ambrx or of his job in Data Management at ALC.  Not to mention the Norwalk CT Council.

I mean with all the hats he wears already, biotech, computer databases, government in Connecticut?  Did I mention car racing?  Protein therapies?

And all this is missing from www.brucekimmel.com.  Shame on you, Michael!

BK, do you have a good handyman?  If so, email me his number.  I have to do some repair on the deck before Derby Day.

By the by, I am carrying the BK torch to the hinterlands.  In my interview in the local hometown paper they asked if I was close friends with any actors, directors, or writers that folks might know.  My answer:

"We don't reallly run in those circles and I'm quite happy not to.  Having worked with so many stars early in my career made me realize they're just people...and a great many, despite all their gifts, are screwed up, unhappy people.  Most of our friends out here are people we've known for years.  Many are fellow Kentuckians from college theatre days...

"Friends you might know are Larry Drake, who played Benny on LA LAW, a dear friend since my Dallas days. Esteemed writer Harlan Ellison and his lovely wife, Susan, are close friends of ours.  Famed pin-up and actress, the delightful June Wilkinson, we know through our dinner theatre circle.  Author, director, composer, and producer of the best Broadway related CDs in the biz, Bruce Kimmel, is also a close pal."

One of my favorite "classes" in elementary school was "Library".  My grade school had a nice library, and a great librarian who opened up many different worlds of literature to us.  I still remember one "project" where we made new dust jackets for certain books.  We actually got to design all the art - and draw and color it all ourselves.  I seem to remember doing an army story - at least some book with a soldier on it.

After I had accumulated quite a few boxes of DETRITUS after writing to various companies and organizations - remember those "Free Stuff for Kids" books? - I contributed them to my grade school's library for their pamphlet files.  I had a ton of stuff from NASA and the American Coal Association - they sent out these great little cards with actual samples of the different types of coal.  OH!  And Bethlehem Steel sent me a small sheet of their latest alloy (had to weigh at least three pounds!) -Needless to say, our postman at the time had to wonder why this kid was getting all these big envelopes from all these various companies.  I still remember the day he came to door with one of those plastic bins filled with "stuff" for me... And then came back a few minutes later with another bin!

Also being flung this way are several Hong Kong musicals and/or comedies! I can't wait to see OUR DREAM CAR! LOL!
