Jrand54, no need to take a picture of it; it still looks the same from the outside. Excepty for some very large copper house numbers to match the outside copper trim on road behind the house, all Keaton's changes were done on the inside. It was Architectural Digest who did a spread on the magazine.

Rodzinski, I'll be curious to hear your review of Pillowman. Glad you like the radio station...it's being able to get things like WMKV that makes the internet worth it. I also love that I can listen to the BBC on the internet. I liked it that I could get baseball games broadcast free on the local radio stations too, before the Major League Baseball stepped in and ruined it.

Whew! I had pre-ordered the I Love Lucy 4th Season DVD set at Amazon for $38 + change. I checked around because something was nagging at my brain. And yes indeed I had also pre-ordered it for $42 at DeepDiscountDVD....close. I cancelled the DDD order post haste!

Talk about losing my dictum! I can just BARELY afford ONE set! And as much as I love LUCY....one set is sufficient!

Thanks DRCP - I will have to locate that AD issue, but of course a color snap of the house would be nice. An HHW exclusive.

That house always reminded me as a jr. version of the Ennis House designed by FLW and used for exteriors in the original "House on Haunted Hill."

The place around the corner is Japanese, and they specialize in yakitori.

The Mexican place is really more of a Oaxacan eatery.

The dessert place is across the street, and their house specialty is a blood orange pound cake topped with a Meyer Lemon curd.

And I would never serve cheesecake to my guests. Only cookies - probably my Oatmeal-Chocoate-Chip-Pecan-Toffee Cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies or my Cantuccini - something portable so that they can carry them around while they follow my detailed self-guided walking tour maps. *And for those guests with nut allergies, I would serve them my Chocolate Crack-Ups and/or my Lemon-Thyme Cornmeal Butter Cookies.

WELL - now I know why Kathleen Turner can give the stunning performance that she is giving in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf now on Broadway!

In the background as I work on the computer (and while I wait for NCIS and The Amazing Race) two television shows called EXTRA and ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT are on. I haven't watched either of them for years...but they are awful, just awful. Nothing but plugs for movies and "rumors" about Britney and Mariah that are completely manufactured to be denied.

ANYWAY...Kathleen got ready for her part in Albee's play by having her knee replaced. Can you imagine her trying to do it with her OLD knee? i would say it makes all the difference!

I have been approached about directing a benefit of Los Angeles City College. I'll be meeting with people in two weeks - it will completely depend on what it is they're looking for, who they'll allow me to use, and the date, but I'm definitely interested.

Me, too, DRTCB - because obviously MRBK will want to use the MOST talented of the HHW accolytes to STAR in the production.

DRGINNY - I kind of got hooked on NCIS because it comes on just before The Amazing Race. The stories are usually pretty obvious, but I like the cast and it's always nice to see David McCallum! DHRichard has great taste!

I've always liked PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED too. Ms. Turner's "young and wide-eyed" looks in that movie are wonderful. And it's one of the rare Nicholas Cage performances that I can actually sit through.

JRand54, The Ennis-Brown house is also in our neighbourhood. I walk by that one too. Never been inside, but the outside having real problems and in need of some tender-loving care. Apparently Lloyd Wright did a lot of experimenting with different types of cement...and whatever this type is, a lot of it seems to be crumbling away. Of course, the Navarro house isn't Frank Lloyd Wright, but Lloyd Wright, the son. We have another Lloyd Wright, the son, house close by that is finally going through a much needed renovation. Part of it is covered by "Kimmel Tarps". There is another Frank Lloyd Wright on Franklin Ave, also within walking distance, that looks very Mayan or Aztecan in its influence...It was at one time the home of Dr. George Hill Hodel, whose son -- retired LA detective, Steve Hodel -- who has written a book called BLACK DAHLIA AVENGER, claiming his father was the murderer of the Black Dahlia. Its caused a great deal of controversy, but it's fairly compelling and there a many creditable people who are vouching for it.

Then in Barnsdale Park, we have another Frank Lloyd Wright house which has just been restored.

I want to see another Kimmel extravaganza of song and dance. I still think we need an cast album of WHAT IF? and a revival of the show.

I have extended my weekend Bollywood movies (I have about 60 or so to get through) into the work week!! I am now watching what is turning into a most interesting motion picture...ANOKHI RAAT (1968).

Afterwards, if time permits, I may watch QUEEN BEE.
