Zizi Jeanmarie died at 96. Didn’t know she was still alive. The Girl in the Pink Tights was her big stage show.

Wow!  96 years old!  Hopefully, she had a good, as well as a long life!

George, how is pug doing? I've thought about her several times lately.

Vibes for her recovery!

Thanks, Jeanne!  She is improving.  She wrote on FB, "I am not yet 100% but again, I am going in the right direction."  So, that's good. :)

So, my friend pug wrote a play that's going to be streaming on Facebook AND YouTube!  It's going to start in a few minutes, but if anyone wants to watch it's available on YouTube here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXSgqNJgS9E

It's over.  Everyone did really well.  It was kind of a Zoom-like reading/horror show.

I didn't realize it, but yesterday there was a write-up in The Olympian about the show and pug's diagnosis:

Pug Bujeaud’s new virtual play will go on even though she has coronavirus.

Whoops!  Last evening I decided to take a snooze, and I ended up sleeping the night away.

That is wonderful :)

My acupuncturist was asked to be interviewed for a documentary on fixing healthcare. After my treatment today she and I spent some time brainstorming. She had already written a few paragraphs, which weren't bad, but I felt they had little impact. I told her what I would say, more for a presentation than an interview, and she liked it.

I'd no sooner arrived home when I was asked to join a Zoom session with the film's director and her, but I couldn't get the Zoom audio to work. I feel like the last person on earth to try Zoom, but frankly felt no need for it. I let them know I'm available by (old-fashioned) phone if they need me. The book is about to be published, so they're not really looking for new ideas, just doing this acupuncture section, I think, for the film.

It sounds like you had a good day.

DR Jeanne I know a number of people who haven't figured out Zoom. I haven't had to try it yet.

Great, insurance won't cover it and without insurance the drops are over $2,000.  They sent the info back to my eye doctor.

Do they send over a cardiologist for the heart attack you'll have when you see the bill?

Vibes you find a reasonable solution to the problem.

:))

Thanks

Speaking of eye doctors, I received a text from the ophthalmologist today, cancelling my August appointment. I've been trying to see this doctor for a consultaion for over a year now. He had a 3-month waiting list, plus there was a lengthy fumble over the referral, schedule conflicts, and then Covid. I tried to call to reschedule, but the lines were busy and the voicemail box was full. God only knows when I'll be able to see him. I've been using Natural Ophthalmics products in the meantime. They have really helped! I've been very pleased to have found them. But a little surgery would mean that I don't have to take them forever. At least in theory. I had no idea that the cataract surgery would necessitate a second one.

Keith had to have a quick second surgery on one eye.  His problem was not uncommon.

Zoom is pretty easy once you get the hang of its little intricacies.  If the person doing the inviting doesn't check the right boxes, then the people joining the meeting have to enable their own video and audio - the audio button is in the bottom left corner.  But I check those boxes so anyone who joins already has the audio and video enabled.

I've noticed a lot of people feeling the stress of Covid and lockdown. I think a lot of people thought that lockdown would just be for a month or two, then businesses would reopen and we'd be back to normal. Many here did reopen, then had to close again. Definitely Covid fatigue.

As I saw people refusing  to take proper precautions I knew this would last a long time.  Definitely Covid fatigue.

Elmore, I agree with Laura about not getting a dog.  What happens if you get laid up?  Your cats can use a litter box, but a dog needs to go out to go potty.  What if you elevator breaks again?  Are you prepared to take him up and down all those stairs, four or more times a day.  Both you and the dog will suffer.  Wait until you go back to Ohio.
