Someone - most likely Stella - knocked everything off the top of the bathroom sink at some point between 9:00 last night and this morning.  So I spent some time this morning retrieving everything.

Last night we started to watch Agatha Christie's The Caribbean Mystery, and I could not stay awake,  We'll finish it this afternoon

One of my childhood friends who lived down the road was CATHARTIC. The rest of us were Protestants.

I have been postponing "updates" for three days, so in about 30 minutes I will shut down and let Apple do their damage.  I do wish that Apple would tell you what the fat hell these updates are before they install them.

I know! Windows is the same. They'll give you a little HINT of whether it's security matters or whatever. But I think it's unconscionable that they don't tell you at least which thing (OS or apps) is being updated. If I knew that much I'd be okay with it since I'm hardly in a position to second guess them on what needs to be done. But I feel very insecure not knowing what they're going to be touching. Or is there something about this notification process that we've been missing all these years?

Of course it would also be very nice of them to allow us to check or uncheck each item, in case we have some reason to stay on a particular version of something. For instance, I absolutely cannot move from Mojave to Catalina because certain things in musical apps aren't yet compatible with it. I believe Apple does NOT force OS changes, but it's difficult to trust them.

Heat wave comin' up!

Like it hasn't already been pretty brutal, what with the humidity levels.  Oy!

The current situation is the "Updates"window hasn't shown up since I pressed "Remind me in an hour" over 90 minutes ago.  So to hell with it today.

It looks as if the Columbia Dental Clinic is open on Monday, so I will call to see if they will take care of me.

I just received the first bill I must pay for the surgery.  My insurance/Medicare is not paying $390 so I need to send Lenox Hill a check.  So much VIP insurance.  I hope there are no more!

I just saw this chest pof drawers on Craig's List for $100, so I've sent an email asking if the seller can deliver it.

I'm afraid that in this crazy week I missed watching the Met's Macbeth. Some other time!

Last night was Falstaff, but I own that one. I should watch it.

Tonight, Der Rosenkavalier from 2010.
Tomorrow, La fanciulla del West from 2008.

Ah, finally! Next Friday, July 31 -- the 2017 Rusalka. I saw the HD Live presentation at a theater and have always wanted to revisit it.

I just finished setting two fence posts and clearing away from vines. It's very hot out there already. I'm a puddle of sweat.

But I also finished Robin Cook's Pandemic. Meh. I've since started The Answer Is. Alex Trebek reads his introduction, but the book is read by Ken Jennings. Slender read. Only 4 hours.

I just read that Trump's Gestapo controlling Portland protestors shot a reporter, and here's another dragging off another.
