Now listening to what will be my final set of the Schumann symphonies - George Szell.  Leave it to Szell to have the best set.  Wonderful performances in great sound - listening to the CD layer right now, and tomorrow will check out the SACD layer.  Szell is simply a great conductor and the Cleveland band is pretty great.  So, while I've enjoyed Mahler's take, and Gardiner's lighter version, this is the best of all I've heard.

I won't confront anyone. I'd never win in a verbal spar. But I now avoid the neighbor who says the virus is a hoax. He told me my doctor was a quack for believing it was real and I should believe him (the neighbor) instead.

Although I believe I would not only have been acquitted by a jury of my peers , but possibly would have been awarded a large cash settlement, or at the very least a medal

Just heard that Billy Goldenberg passed away.  Wonderful man and wonderful composer, who I just recently met when he came to the Group Rep to see either Man Who Came to Dinner or In My Mind's Eye, probably the latter.  Yes, the final preview of In My Mind's Eye - I wrote about us meeting and will write a little something in the notes tomorrow.

Oh, no. :( I really like the score to Ballroom.

I am pleased to announce that an audio edition of my first novel, NOBODY DROWNS IN MINERAL LAKE (1999), is finally available for download via audible.com, Amazon or iTunes.

"Mineral Lake" is, of course, a pseudonym for SOAP LAKE, WA, where I spent many summers during the early years of my life.

The novel of suspense, read by Chip Dolan, is the story of a homecoming that quickly develops into your worst nightmare.

"A fascinating tale based on a true story." -- John Austin, Book of the Week.

The novel is also available in paperback and Kindle editions.

I bought my copy of NOBODY DROWNS IN MINERAL LAKE from you Druxy, I don’t remember if you signed it or not.  I really enjoyed it.  It was not quite as wonderful as MURDER IN BABYLON.  That book was fantastic!

Facebook started doing this latest in a series of hateful things a couple of days ago (on the desktop/browser version, not the app, which I don't use):

I'll be scrolling down some page (usually my news feed), and if I click on a "Like" or on some other kind of link, it pops me back up to the top of the page and, of course, refreshes it so I lose wherever the HELL I was. The "Like" takes effect, but I'd have to go looking for that post if I needed to see it again. I'm curious as to whether it's "just me" or if anyone else has experienced this.

I never have that problem.  Of course, I don’t go to Facebook.
