Bernard Herrmann does one of the Ives symphonies and I like it, but everyone hates it because it's slow. I had no idea Variations on America was a comic number - I'll listen again. And I did enjoy symphony one, at least as done by Gould.

I don't think Ives believed it was, but I find Schuman's orchestration very funny.

I got so caught up in doing this that I didn't give a thought to dinner. My wonderful neighbor Ann just showed up with a complete roasted chicken from Fairway, and other goodies.

Had Jack in the Box for lunch - I don't do it very often but do enjoy their Breakfast Jacks and weird two tacos - and onion rings, which are the best fast food onion rings.
