Tomorrow my uncle who had a birthday last week, my cousin Michelle, my sister Paula, and I are having a pizza lunch at my house with social distancing.

My mother had an old Bible that she did not use, but it was on the shelf.  After she passed away, I took it down and inside were lots of poems cut out of newspapers and little notes and receipts.....one was a tax receipt for my great grandfather from 1900.....for a grand total of $4.

There was also a note from the grandmother marking the date of my uncle's first haircut.....May 9, 1942, 8 months after he was born.

I printed out some pictures from his high school yearbook, some pictures of him with his brothers and sisters, and added the note from his mother on a matte and put it all in a small picture frame for him.

He is not a sentimental person, but hopefully he will have some reaction to it tomorrow.

Wow, I cannot imagine this gift not being appreciated even if he doesn't show his emotions.

I had a nice outing today. I went up north for a while. It was very hazy from the wildfires from several states. And it was hot.

I'll mark September 3 on my calendar so I know to expect a photo from TCB. :-)

I'll keep the video portion on my second screen, but I'm going to listen to Sandy Bainum again...and this time, since everyone is pretty much gone, I can listen to it loudly! :D

Pie crusts are not that hard to make. Flour, butter, salt, and a little cold water in a food processor.

And if they don't like butter, use Crisco.

Rachel Maddow has been interrupting the RNC for fact checking...and has interrupted a couple of times already.

I am pleased it was a nice outing in spite of the haze and heat.

I don’t have my food processor with me. 😿

I had a large chicken breast so I rubbed it with lemon/pepper seasoning and orange peel seasoning.

Then I browned it nicely on both sides  in a skillet with a little butter
