Well, you've read the notes, the notes were flummoxed and yet had feeling, and now it is time for you to post until the flummoxed cows come home.

Well, today's going to be a day.  I'm going back to my parents' for my family's sometimes-weekly get-together dinner (actually, lunch), but I probably won't stay for the Phase 10 playing portion of the get-together.  My friend David is visiting from Seattle and he wanted to know if we could get together and visit (safely distanced, of course) for a while.  I said that that wouldn't be a problem, so I'll see him after dining with the family.

And now, since I didn't really get much sleep last night/this morning, I'm going to bed now.  I know it's early (for me), but it must be done.

Good night and have a good day, all!

I slept quite nicely until sometime around 4:00 when a pushy Stella drove Thatch of, Around the same time Annabelle decided she was getting under my blankets for warmth.  From that point sleeping was hell.  I will catch up with a nap later,

BK, that Barbirolli recording of Dido and Aeneas was my first Purcell recording, around 1968.  I'm very fond of it, but, like Sir Thomas Beecham's Messiah, other 17th and 18th century music recorded before, say, 1964, the approach was a late 19th century attitude toward the baroque: trills, mordents, etc, when written in the score, no improvisation.  So, it's now considered an old-fashioned recording, but I still love it.

BK, I was thinking, too, since you like Verdi'd Requiem, that you might like Verdi's last two operas written in the same period as the REquiem, Otello and Falstaff, both based on Shakespeare plays.

Maybe I should listen to the Scotto Butterfly.  It's probably my favorite opera.....but when I saw her sing once on television she was very flat and the audience was NOT HAVING IT....

I didn't have my glasses on, so I won't say what I thought the conversation about Dido and Aeneas was about.

Stay in the sun too long and you could develop METROPHOBIA.
