Sure, but only the segment you are in.  I hope you are in it. :)

Is your sister’s boyfriend going to make you a DVD?

They didn't specifically tape me and the music that I brought.  I might only be in the background somewhere...hopefully.  There's no telling if I'll be seen at all!

Eight people in the jernt and no posts for an hour.  You tell me.

BARRATRY!

I'm on my way to what I hope will be a SHORT evening, and a not-too-painful one.

JRand54, didn't do much with my day...had lunch with my friend Mark and helped him run some work errands in Albany, and now I am relaxing in front of the tube watching HUSH AUR ISHQ (1966), another Arabian Knights style Bollywood movie...suspiciously similar to CHAR DERVESH, but in black and white and very low budget...and not nearly as good!  :(

The evening is glorious.  A perfect ending to the day.

After being cooped up all day, it's a joy to get out on my balcony, water my thirsty, droopy plants and feel a promise of "summer" in the air.

That said, we'll probably have a week or two of crappy weather now.

I got my second paper done today, so I only have three more. This semester I am including in each paper a sentence about F. Scott Fitzgerald. None of my classes have anything to do with F. Scott Fitzgerald, so this should be interesting. The paper I wrote today was about seventeenth-century England. And F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Pretty good, huh?

I think Lily Tomlin is great, but I think a lot has to do with Jane Wagner who writes her material. One of the best pieces they ever did was "Glinda A Child of the 60's" which I believe is on the the Appearing Nightly. I am not a big fan of today's stand up because every 2nd word is a vulgarity or swear word. I do like Margret Cho despite her overuse of swear words because what she has to say through comedy I feel is important commentary on her view on what is happening in the USA right now.

George Carlin is funny clean or blue. Joan Rivers was funny before all her plastic surgery and her husband's death.

I like Mario Catone. I saw him on comedy central and thought he was quite funny. I looking forward to the telecast of his Broadway show, Laugh Whore.

Never liked Jerry Seinfeld.

Bob Newhart and Bill Cosby especially his Noah routines. But my favorite is Ice Cream.

I do love Nichols and May their routine were brilliant. I discovered them in 1976 they reunited for the Presidential (Carter) concert and they did their version of The First Jewish President talking to his mother on the phone. I laughed so  much. The next day my father went out and bought an album of their routines for me. No one quite matched what they did.

Interesting, very interesting.

I see Varese Saranbande is back in the musical business. They are re- releasing the Broadway cast recording of Promises, Promises and the soundtrack of Man of La Mancha.

Also a new label (at least I never heard of it) Sepia is releasing the cast album of Two's Company with Bette Davis and a twofer of Seventeen  and High Button Shoes and Joyce Grenfell one woman show.

also of interest DRG is releasing the French cast recording of Man of La Mancha with Jacques Brel and Broadway/London's Joan Diener. Also the newest volume of Forbidden Broadway.

The company that releases Dark Shadows on DVD (MPI) is releasing the Doris Day Show. Hopefully they will have the episode Young Love with BK when they get around to Season 3 (Episode 80) as they filmed two versions one with and one without DD

First Tabitha! Now Doris Day!

Just spent an evening with WC Fields, watching THE BANK DICK and NEVER GIVE A SUCKER AN EVEN BREAK. Now that's good comedy.

Terrible stand-up is what brought me and the Gal together. When we first started dating, it was "Comedy Week" and she was scouting for Nickelodeon at that time. Great Scott, we saw so many terrible, painfully bad comics. And the worst thing now is if they are bad, they often try to cop this defensive attitude towards the audience in order to rescue some laffs. It's a vicious cycle. It's not that they are all bad, but for every good one, there are about 5 lousy ones.

I have a real soft spot for Rip Taylor. That guy just cracks me up. Long may he throw confetti.

I have a great-sounding LP called "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger" on Disneyland Records, featuring the stylings of Camarata. Gorgeous music on there.

Ah Rodzinski, W.C. Fields is one of my favorites! Favorite of his is INTERNATIONAL HOUSE!!

I noticed that the Wheeler and Woolsey film THE CUCKOOS is going to be on later this week (early Friday?)...now this W & W I like...but mainly because of the dance numbers and the leading man Hugh Trevor. I have a very crummy VHS dub of the movie, so hopefully I will remember to tape it this week...and someday when I get my replacement DVD burner I can make me a DVD of it...seems to me some of it is in color!? Can't remember for sure.

Well isn't life wonderful?  Isn't the internet great?

Last night - or rather early this morning - on BEAT THE CLOCK, Bud Collyer happened to mention that his model-hostess Roxanne had recently appeared in the movie THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH.  Roxanne said yes, along with another girl named Marilyn Monroe who was also in it.

I thought I would go to IMDB and add that bit of trivia to the SYI listing.  While there, I clicked on Roxanne's name.  Lo and behold!  She was married for about 18 months to Red Buttons.  After the divorce, she spent five years on BEAT THE CLOCK.  And her most famous movie role would have to be Miss Electra in the film version of GYPSY!

Who would have known?

Rehearsal tonight was a disappointment. Several actors could not attend due to prior commitments, and the actor who had been cast as my son Jean-Michel changed his mind over the weekend and isn't doing the show, so now they're scouting for someone else to play the part. Ah, actors!

DR Michael Shayne, Sepia is a British company that has been reissuing American cast albums for over a year now. The two you mentioned are the first ones I've seen offered on Amazon (and which I promptly ordered), but Ken Mandelbaum has been reviewing their reissues for awhile now. The others they've done I'm sure were available at Footlights (for an outrageous import fee, more than likely).

Good Evening!

What a wonderful evening I ended up having!

As I was logging off earlier, I happened to notice my friend, Terry, in my Buddy List window.  I said, "Hi."  He said, "Hi."  I told him I was about to head out to dinner, and then I asked if he had had dinner yet.  He had not, so we ended up meeting around the corner at Three Monkeys a couple of minutes later.

Very good meals, and a great place.  We could not score a seat on the patio, but we were able to grab a booth close to the doors - so it was almost like sitting outside.  Terry had the grilled eggplant sandwich with fries, and I got their signature Monkey Burger - Angus beef, gorgonzola cheese, bacon and avocado - with onion straws.  We both enjoyed our meals, and the servings were quite generous.  Neither of us finished our sides as much as we were tempted to.  Since there were not too busy, we hung out for a while.  A couple of mutual friends would walk by every now and then etc., etc. etc...

It was great playing catch up.  *And Terry is a rather handsome man, so that was nice too!  ;)

After dinner, he hopped back on his bike and headed home, and I went ahead and took a walk up and down Carytown.  Perfect evening for a walk!  I made a stop at Kroger's to pick up some chocolate...  -Just how many "Special Edition" chocolate bars is Hershey coming out with?  I must know, so that I can try at least one of each of them!  :)  I also picked a bag of those Limited Edition Reese's Pieces that have the peanuts in them for my roomie.  -Oh, and for breakfast tomorrow - if it makes it to breakfast - I picked up a maple-glazed apple fritter.  Talk about gilding the lily!  I just happened to walk by the bakery case, and there they were!

Now I'm back here doing laundry - I finally unpacked my luggage.  Sort of.  I got one load in the dryer, and I have a load of whites soaking.  Of course, since I had not used the soak cycle on this machine yet, I ended up running a load of "water".  I thought that since I had left the lid up as the washer was filling, that it would stop once it was filled, and then I would load my clothes in.  Well...  Live and learn.

I caught a few of their shows when I was in Memphis since the hotel's cable system had at least five sports channels, but no other real arts or movie channels.  They also had The Discovery Channel, but no The Learning Channel.  Oh, and sin of all sins, they did not have The Food Network!  -Where was I?  Oh, yes...

The Sklar Brothers caught my eye as I was flipping channels one night.  Funny stuff!  And it's amazing what sports and "near-sports" they found footage of.  Everything from high school basketball tournaments to amateur bowling to professional dominos!  -Oh, and they're cute too!

Well, as I was putting away some groceries the other day, I noticed that I still have two pounds of butter, two pounds of cream cheese, and a pint of sour cream in my fridge.  And they're all still good - expiration dates are still a few months down the line!

And then in my pantry, an unopened box of Valrhona cocoa, a box of Graham crackers, a bag of unblanched almonds, four packages of Ghirardelli chocolate chips, a bag of pecans.... etc., etc., etc...

And eggs are on sale at Ukrop's this week...

So...  Stay tuned!

*And if you send me your snail mail address, I'll see what I can do...

DR Michael Shayne - I also believe Sepia started off as on offshot of a classical label - Pearl, maybe?  I'm pretty sure I have a few of their rereleases of "classic voices" from the Golden Age.

...But I could be thinking of another label...  In any case...

OH!

And I also received word today that I'll be playing the whole week of Mamma Mia! when it comes here to Richmond in two weeks instead of just subbing in for a couple of select performances.  The conductor will be taking the week off to go on a vacation with his family.  -His last "vacation" in Indy was to do his taxes.  :-\

So, since I'll be back with the "company" for that week, I'll be getting per diem again!  Hoo and Ray!!

DRs Ginny and elmore...

While walking around tonight, I noticed a car that had a sticker on the back window of that classic Peanuts pose of Lucy leaning on Schroeder's piano while Schroeder was playing - the piano notes were coming out of the piano.  As my eyes proceeded downward, I noticed the vanity plate:
