I liked a lot of Kasha’s music, but not his additions to the Seven Brides score.

Candle on the Water should have won the Oscar.

My question for ASK BK DAY:

Have you ever considered composing a concerto, fugue, or etude?

The theater I usher for is scheduling a lot of virtual concerts, which sounds intriguing. Your admission lets you watch it with a 48-hour period. The first up is Stavinsky’s l’Histoire du soldat with Ravel’s Mother Goose thrown in for good measure. Quite a pair.

My question for ASK BK DAY:

Have you ever considered composing a concerto, fugue, or etude?

Or after this past week, a requiem?

Back from eating a nice turkey sandwich, for which I did NOT hold the mayonnaise.

Also back with the Flonase --
For I was in a daze
And could only lie upon the chaise
While my nose was all ablaze.

The malaise craze
Has gone on for days.
Everyone spends, nobody pays.
Government has its means and ways
And the people wait for the end of phase
TEN.

Butt ugly word of the day: deduplicate. (Or etacilpuded backwards, which sounds a little better.)

It means to eliminate redundancy.

So, I haven't been talking about this, but Neve has been going downhill over the last week or so.  It all happened fairly quickly.  She was eating less and not using (needing?) her litter box.  Yesterday and the day before, she wasn't able to stand or walk very easily.  She was able to, just not easily.  Well, this morning, it really went downhill and I put her in my car and took her to an emergency vet.  I knew that I wasn't going to take her home, and I didn't.  Her heart actually stopped before the vets put in a catheter to put her to sleep. :'(

But not too long after I woke up and before I left to take Neve to the vet, I got a call from my mom saying that my dad is in the hospital.  He was in pain all night.  She got him up and was going to take him to the hospital when he collapsed at their front door.  She was able to catch him and let him down gently.  That's when she saw that his feet were white.  The ambulance people got him to the hospital and they found that he has a couple of issues that would need surgery (including amputating his legs), but my mom said that with his age and dementia that he probably wouldn't survive the surgery (she's a retired nurse, so she knows), so they're just going to keep him comfortable.  That's all I know. :(

Do you have to mail it vs dropping it off in a ballot box?

DR George, this is so sad.  She was a beautiful cat.  I am so sorry.

One of my best college friends who's lived in Cologne and coached voice at the Cologne Conservatory for the past 30 years before retiring called this afternoon and we had a nice visit. Gary wrote the notes on the German lieder for my Victor Herbert song collection.

I got a reply from Suad.  She says there is a lag with these unemployment payments and she will get back to me.  Have you heard anything, DR ChasSmith?

Yay, we went for a walk this morning and the sun was finally visible through the smoke.  The big orange sun would be beautiful with we could see the sky instead of ugly white smoke.
