Today at 5:30 p.m. we have our ZOOM read thru.  I have assembled some costumes, so I think things are moving right along.

The only cast member whose name I recognize is Jesse Fromme who was one of the choir boys in SISTER ACT and played the lead in A GENTLEMAN's GUIDE TO MURDER....

Of course yesterday was the 107th birthday of Miss Frances Farmer.

Nice weather here.....Birdy Barnum is on his perch and singing out the open window.....

Most of the crumbled biscuits were gone this morning.....I picked up what was left and took it to the front yard, where I crumbled some more.....so the birdies in the front yard can have a treat.

And BB can have something to look at when they start walking around out there.

OH and the SHAKESPEARE info is on the website AND Facebook, so now everyone can relax.....I find it more than a little ironic that our sponsor is the local funeral home....but well.....there you are.

Thanks to all for the continued good wishes. I suspect they will discharge me this afternoon. The nurses are astonished that I have not needed any pain meds.

Best news I've heard in a while!

I’ll second that.

One more thing about those nasty icebergs back in 1912.  The positions sent out regarding the spotting of icebergs were not much help to the Titanic due to the hours that had passed between when the iceberg Was spotted and also the ocean’s currents.

That certainly makes sense.

Yes it does.

Woops. And wouldn't you know it, it's cat feeding time. There's a presence here reminding me of that very fact.

Back later.

They don't let you forget ;)

Thanks to all for the continued good wishes. I suspect they will discharge me this afternoon. The nurses are astonished that I have not needed any pain meds.

I am also astonished and think it is wonderful.  May you continue not to need them once you are home.  Pain is normally a reminder to us not to do too much.  Without it, please be extra careful to not overdue anything and give yourself time to heal.

elmore, it was a possibility but at the time it was still a bit too close to the Lerner show we'd already done.  It's still possible but not online.

Food consumed - the pasta I love from Stanley's - probably 250 to 500 calories above my usual consumption, but after three and a half weeks of 1000 calories, it's not gonna hurt me because 1500 is still okay at my height.  And tomorrow I'll do a bit under 1000 as I already know what I'm going to make here and it's VERY friendly.

What I miss most this year was the birthday gatherings with friends at a Mexican place, so I had a frozen Amy's tamale dinner with guacamole and chips.  It was tasty, but not as wonderful as Rosa's or Cafe Frida, and I missed the margaritas and friends.

I used to eat a lot of Amy's frozen foods. They were definitely among the better choices. That one looks quite good.

I saw that Maya Rudolph won an Emmy last night for her portrayal of Kamala Harris on SNL.  She won over Bette Midler, among others.

Yesterday afternoon I decided that what I most missed from my birthday was Central Pastry birthday cake from my Ohio days.  So, I ordered a couple of slices from Make My Cake and had them delivered.  Last night I had the strawberry layered slice, which looks better than it was, while I watched Midsomer Murders, abd today I shall have the carrot cake slice.
http://www.makemycake.com

You could order just slices? What a good idea! My favorite food store sells slices of their wonderful cakes and that it what I usually purchase for my birthday. I'm not a fan of traditional birthday cake, anyway, so one slice of the Tres Leches cake or even one of their fruit tarts works well for me.

I'm glad you were able to have some treats for your birthday.

I have Amy's frozen entrees quite often.  Of course, like most frozen dinners, there's a lot of sodium in them

What a beautiful day in the DC area!   It was in the 60's, sunny, and with low humidity.
