It seems to me that they do a lot of work for not very much compensation.

I was a travel agent back in the 80’s. It was a fun job back in those days. The pay was not great, but in those days you got commissions off of everything you booked, not just cruises and tours, but on airline tickets, as well.

That all changed when the PC took off. There was no longer any need to pay commissions on air fare. The only good part that I believe still makes being a travel agent worthwhile is the free travel, but even that isn’t what it used to be.

It was really nice. We get there and meet the father and his wife. In the Byzantine church, the priests can marry. They all were really nice and offered their condolences. I don't remember anyone's names, but that's not unusual.

We get there really early, but that was probably a good thing. They had set up a table in the middle of the chapel and I put the urn on it, and place the picture of my dad that we also brought.

My sister put together a memory board with a whole bunch of pictures of my dad. My mom thought that it was a bit over the top, but we took it. I'll make sure that I take a picture of it tomorrow.

When we get there and set up the picture board in the hall (it's another building), the few people that are there just LOVE the all the pictures. Evidently, whenever someone else loves something, it seems that that makes it okay for my mom.
