I found out today that I will have to have an additional surgery - for something utterly unrelated. I have been getting chronic nose bleeds. Today, I finally was able to get in to see the ENT doctor, who found a growth near my sinuses that needs to come out. She said that these growths are almost always benign, so that is good.

DR George, the Phase 10 cards arrived. We tried a few rounds. I think I need to re-read the instructions.      8)

I can also see how it would be more fun with more than 2 players.

Scary news, but glad they caught it. When is it going to happen?

At Christmas he was still too young to "get" opening presents.

He learned today.

Nice. He'll be asking for a credit card before you know it.

There was just DH and I, and Mama's aunt and uncle. So a very small gathering. Sandra couldn't get the day off work.

Poor Sandra.  I didn't realize she had family here.  That is nice.

Darn, as if you haven't had enough lately.  At least the outcome should be good.  I hope you don't have to wait too long to have the surgery.

And speaking of surgery - sorry to hear DR elmore3003's news.

But I think after the recovery, you will be happy that it was done.

I just came across this...John McCain's mother Roberta dies at 108.  I had no idea that she was that old!

Well, I need to leave work now and go home.  I'll do a little shopping first, then go home.

Be back later.

Listened to a short Jack London novel called The Scarlet Plague today. It was set about 50 years from now, 60 years after a plague wiped out civilization. It may have been the scariest of all the pandemic novels I've picked up this year, because when the virus hits, the yahoos know they're going to die, so they plan on taking out everyone else they can and destroy everything they can. It's too close to the mask-less attitude for comfort.

Mini eaten - very good.  Listening to John Veale's second symphony - like the best movie music you never heard.  I love this guy.  Definite CD of his music coming from us in the future.

It sounds too close for comfort.  Since it is Jack London and the library has it, I just checked it out.

Knee surgery vibes for DR elmore.  I doubt you will get that job with the Rockettes, but I think you will be glad that you had it done.

An asphalt company in Tacoma had a huge fire yesterday afternoon and evening.  The authorities say they are investigating the possibility of arson, but I think it was asphalt.
