Good Morning - and what a morning it has been!!!  Today, I expect to get some packing done.  I have a meeting to go to - now I wished I would have voted for a Zoom meeting - and my stint at church and home again for dinner, more packing and probably a celebratory drink and cigar, depends on the weather.

Great work, America!

LOL about a dozen folks in the neighborhood are walking down to see the equine display......some folks stopped their cars to look.

I don't blame them......horses are fun to see.....and you don't get many chances to do so up close anymore.

I would that if it were my neighborhood.

I spent the last two hours prepping the root vegetable cobbler. If I didn't have an ingredient, i would substitute something else. No potatoes or sweet potatoes? Fine. In went butternut squash and a pear. Now, it's baking for another 45 minutes or so.

I don't know what the final result will be like, but the broth left over was wonderful.

A church I used to sing at advertised a lunch recital series featuring "soup and crusty bread."

I guess that's better than soup and moldy bread.

DR JANE the most remarkable thing just happened.

My neighbor's son, who lives about three miles away across the county line, and his wife rode their horses over to visit her.

I heard a terrible ruckus.....those three doggies were going to make short work of those horses.....but Travis just turned his horse toward them and they ran as fast as they could back to their front door.

Travis rode his horse over to my front porch so I could pet him.  His name is Spurs.....he's a 14-year-old brown & white boy.....with one brown eye and one blue eye and LONG LONG eyelashes.....

Such a treat to get to pet a horse and talk to him.....I'm sorry I didn't have an apple!

I just love this story, it would have made my day except for that other news already did ;)

We used to see horses on the road near us in Ashland.  It was fun.

I have never had a close encounter with a horse, except perhaps a pony ride as a child, and I would dearly love to.

That is a shame.  The last trail ride I went on my horse almost fell.  I realized the risk of breaking something was too great and decided to stop riding.  Not that we went all that often.

The summer of 1968 I had to take a phys ed class to graduate in August.  I chose horseback riding.  I was pathetic, but it was fun.

I am sorry now I didn't get my camera.....

We grew up with ponies and horses.....I wasn't a GOOD rider, but I was okay.

DR singdaw is correct - they are unique animals.  And they love dogs or hate them......but sometimes a horse and a dog can become very good friends.....

When we walk in the neighborhood we usually see a couple that live a few buildings down from us.  We have never discussed politics with them.  This morning she said "It is a good day", Keith responded with "Yes it is", and then we all gave thumps up.  Now we are happy to know their views :)

We have wild horses at the river. I saw a band of them yesterday when I was driving up north.

Has there ever been a HHW Zoom gathering?  Other than watching the Kritzerland shows, I mean.

That sounds like fun.

Ooh that would be fun
