Finished with my viewing.  I think I'll try Gelson's again and see what's what.  Minimally, I'll get something that's fun for tomorrow, whether stuff for tacos or some beef for the pasta or something like that.

I've had an offer to work on a Kern score.  The money's very poor, but I could use it and I'd rather work than be idle.

That's great, Larry!  Hope it leads to more work!

Can you tell us which score?

1918, Oh, Boy!

I love that one. Hope it's fun for you.

DR John G., I decided to go with the fresh instead of the frozen.  I will try the frozen recipe another time, though.

I'm sure they will be wonderful.

I spent the evening with two friends. We have had a long standing Thanksgiving Eve dinner. Usually, it is as a restaurant. This year we decided to do small plates.

Martha Stewart's deviled eggs with butter were excellent. So was the celery root-hazelnut soup with a white Burgundy on the side. I also brought some sheep and goat's milk cheeses and the cranberry chess pie.

Pam made a sourdough baguette, a cheese ball and baby portobello mushrooms stuffed with duck confit.

Cecil made shishito peppers, a whole array of pickled vegetables, a herring dish, and more.

We grazed for several hours and drank some really happy wines.

And I left my phone at their house. Oh, well. I'll get it in the morning.

I see that the Rockefeller owl has been returned to its home habitat.

Yes.  I have a friend who who hikes where the owl was released and is hoping for a sighting.

Tonight we watched the last two episodes of The Queen's Gambit  :)
Thank you DR Vixmom for enticing me to watch it.

Listening to von Karajan do the Mahler fifth - this is maybe the best fifth I've heard.  What I'm doing is making my iTunes perfect Mahler.  Hard choices when you've got Bruno Walter, Eugene Ormandy, Klemperer, Kubelik, Szell, von Karajan and others.  But I'm going through each and choosing my favorites for my ultimate Mahler cycle.

von Karajan's sixth is also superb.  Have never heard his ninth, which I have here, so I'll give that a spin, but there are several ninths I love.

I continue to be grateful you have this wonderful man as your boss.

I am just grateful that you lived thru your former employer, so that you could get this great job.

And just because...50 of the best, most wholesome memes of all time. ;D

I don’t know what a meme is?

Definition of meme:
1: an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture

2: an amusing or interesting item (such as a captioned picture or video) or genre of items that is spread widely online especially through social media
