I figured things could only continue downhill from there, so here I am.

We shall endeavor to make it so.

A new “later”? Really autocorrect? I type “plateau” and you think I really meant to type “later”?

Barnum is singing a lot this morning.....loudly.....  I think it's all of the Christmas music on the TV commercials......he certainly enjoys it.

For some reason I had a SPORTS dream last night.  I was watching a hockey game AND a basketball game at the same time.

Both teams used a new and unexpected play in the last few seconds of each game.  One player grabbed the basketball and ran up into the stands causing a referee call of "Free In."

Everybody was up in arms and then a hockey player grabbed the puck and ran up into the stands.....and received a "Free In" call as well....

Chaos reigned.....

Speaking of operas that are difficult...

Much as I love Benjamin Britten, I have always found Owen Wingrave a bit of a slog.

I will have to give it another chance.

Wednesday morning greetings!

The other day, DR Ginny posted about a poinsettia. I wanted to ask her if it looked like this:

No, DR Singdaw.  I wouldn’t have let that one into the house.  Remember, I’m an animal grinch.

Today I have a car coffee date with my recently-widowed friend Rebecca.  She has been quite withdrawn and I’m not sure what to expect, but I’m looking forward to seeing her.

I have always been sorry that John Daker never recorded "His Eye is On the Sparrow" for posterity.

I have dragged 40 lbs of litter to the third floor and into the apartment.  There were nice surprises in yesterday's mail: the December Gramophone, the Region 2 DVD of A Christmas Gift from Bob, which I think we will watch tonight, and the new recording of Sir Arthur Sullivan's Haddon Hall.

And an outrageous bill from Lenox Hill Radiology, including charges for x-rays from 2017, claiming my insurance will not accept them.  Strange, given that all visits to this company were prepared by my doctor.  I am not amused.
