I've unpacked my Oh, Boy! materials that arrived yesterday, and I have a ton of wrapping to tote to the basement.  It was quite well packaged. I've taken a hot bath and I wish I could say I feel refreshed.  I feel very clean and sleepy.

And the bad news? I think my cell phone is dying. It no longer holds a charge and I have to charge it every day. So, I have a Verizon trip in my immediate future.

Wednesday morning greetings!  It's snowing here in SW Ohio, but I think it's just the back edge of the storm that's going to wallop the east coast.  Perfect day for putting up our Christmas tree.

And I've just purchased, online, a microwave that we will pick up at Lowe's as soon as I get the email notification that it's ready.

Good Morning -  I had a dream last night that I was conducting 2 performances of "The Lion King" on Broadway.  So random since I've never had any aspirations to conduct on Broadway - or even play on Broadway.  Since the show has been running for 20+ years, the orchestra didn't even bothered to watch me, but watched each other.  They all smiled and were very gracious.

I watched MOST of "8 1/2" last night.  TCM is showing the Criterion version....or at least that was the credit at the beginning.

My big problem with a LOT of these discs is that the subtitles are WHITE and when they are over white or light colored images, they are very difficult to read.....but I did get further than I ever have.

We have ported our theatre website over to Word Press, so I am on a learning curve.

It seems to be working okay.  It took me awhile to figure out how to add a link with a clickable TEXT word instead of the entire URL....but I finally got the hang of that.

There are about seven years of programs to add to the ATTENDANCE PAGE - but it will be simple.....just time consuming.

Ronald Reagan was originally supposed to play opposite Ida Lupino in WOMAN IN HIDING, but a few days before filming started, he broke his leg during a baseball game.  He was replaced by Howard Duff...who later married Ida.

Watching the film last night, I figure that they must have rewritten the role for Duff, as I couldn't really see Reagan in that part.

Ida’s film Outrage was added to the National Registry this week.

I had an odd dream last night that I was put in charge of a team with the goal being to send people off at the right time. But some people dragged their feet or didn’t wanna go.

I hope it’s more about work than anything.

Back from the errands (long ago, actually) and putting stuff away and prepping the snowblower and other power equipment and doing laundry and eating lunch and God only knows what else. The shopping trip turned out to be fine, even though the place was pretty busy and (I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN A PICTURE - YOU WOULD HAVE LOVED IT) the bread shelves were depleted. Except for the more expensive fancier breadstuffs. I'm sorry, I didn't think to check the milk department.

That's interesting.  Might Ida have ended up as our first lady ;)

Congratulations on your release.

Our walking path was very busy with neighbors who were out, just like us, to be home before it rained.  It was a nice, and friendly, walk :)

So, both DR Jrand70 and I watched MOST of 8 1/2 just one night apart? And we both found the subtitles challenging because of so much white on white? I don't know about the rest of you, but I think we have all the evidence we need. Am I right? I just can't decide which of my congresspeople to notify first. I do know that when the media get ahold of this.....well, watch out.

I do know I should slog through the rest of mine tonight, to finish renewing my acquaintance with the film, and so I can move on to some as yet unseen Fellini. That will be fun and I'm looking forward to it.

Right now, though -- boy, could I ever use a 30-minute power nap. Or a 30-minute regular old damned nap. Maybe I'll settle back in the recliner and try for that after I take the clothes out of the dryer.

I just had a look on USPS Informed Delivery which has a whole slew of packages destined to arrive here...someday. The one from Valley Village, CA is slated to be delivered on Friday by 8 pm. I'm assuming that's the Lolita one, but I don't remember if there's something else on order. I shall just let myself be pleasantly surprised.

My BFI copy of Carnival in Flanders has the same situation, only it's compounded by the fact it needs new subtitles because the old ones from the 1930s are far too polite and censored.

I got the comforter out of the trunk and threw it onto the bed.  The cats are playing in its copious folds.

Annabelle is pulling her usual dinner-time crap tonight.  I put their bowls out. Stella gobbles hers down so she can get to Annabelle's and Thatch takes his dining time leisurely because once he's finished his. he eats the leftovers of the other two.

So, Annabelle ignores the dinner and tries her damnedest to get dry food out of me instead.  I pick her up and carry her to her bowl, and without seeing what treat awaits she runs away and Stella eats her food.  Then I putter around, and find Annabelle is now eating Stella's leftovers.  She does this every damned night!

Doing one of those way too often Microsoft updates, which means I had to quit out of Word, which means I then have to retrieve all the working documents.

I remember a fragment of another dream in which I think Judy Kaye might have been playing Mrs Shinn in The Music Man.

That would be cool!  I'd love to see her as Mrs. Shinn!
