I went out to Costco, which was a madhouse and out of toilet paper.

So, I headed over to Meijer and fell in love with the place. We don't have them in San Antonio. I found watermelon radishes for next week's radish party.

I'm thinking of doing latkes with potato, radish and apple in them.

I don't know what other dishes. Maybe some raw radish ravioli, if I'm feeling adventurous.

bk introduced me to the wonders of David Hurwtiz's [classicstoday.com] video reviews of classical music. I just listened to the 50-minute video of about 25 versions of Handel's Messiah.  Besides being wildly entertaining and informative, there were many laugh-out-loud moments. Hurwitz may not be to everyone's taste, but I love him, and I am grateful to bk for the discovery.

Miracle vibes for everyone! ‘Tis The season!

When we still worked in an office, a colleague and cube neighbor of mine was fond of shouting out, "It's a Christmas miracle!" at odd moments at all times of year.

Our neighbor in the next apartment died a few days ago. The announcement was in the elevator; otherwise, we wouldn't have known. He was only 66.

Our across-the-hall neighbor died a year ago.

I think we are bad news.

That is sad.  It was  ice someone left an announcement in the elevator.

I can't recall the last time we were in our building elevator.   It certainly was before covid.

I heard yesterday that one of my step-son’s passed away.

At least we made it to page five.

I can’t remember who said they watched UNCLE FRANK and enjoyed it.  I watched it today, but I didn’t enjoy it.

This is very sad.  My condolences. Is this two Step-son's that have recently passed away?

So, in the meantime time, Mom and I made a really good pot of Roasted Mushroom and Onion Soup. You roast the onions in the oven for 45 minutes and the mushrooms 30 minutes before adding to the soup. I was surprised at how rich the flavors were. White wine and veggie stock were also in there, as well as more onion and celery.

It sounds delicious.

Jane, is honey considered vegetarian?

[George]

I have a chocolate spread that has an ingredient that's made of other ingredients and honey is one of those other ingredients, and the label says that it's vegetarian.  I wouldn't have thought so.
