I'm always a bit surprised to find MARGIE's father in THE QUEEN OF OUTER SPACE.

I love it when bk and DR elmore3003 opine about opera!

Yes indeed. And I'm especially curious about the Prokofiev. Is that your preferred recording, DR Elmore?

Yes. It's the only recording in French, and I prefer it to the Russian recordings.

After watching the first six seasons of Midsomer Murders again, I believe the best episodes were most of season one and a won derful episode from Season Six, "Painted In Blood." It's a good mystery with a goodly amount of humor.

TOD:

CDs:  Lolita, My Love and Rebecca Luker Sings Cole Porter.

Other:  Don't know yet.

To these I added The Littlest Revue, and it made for quite the morning of listening.

Well, I'm back to Facebook jail for saying I didn't want Trump impeached; I wanted him executed for treason and sedition.  I hate these Facebook assholes.

Oh, dear, DR Elmore!  I hope you don't end up as you-know-who's cell mate!

Just remember they are also doing the same to those making death/hate statements against Biden.

Resignation and pardon ala Nixon/Ford.....that is what I expect.

I suspect Pence does not want to be in a position to be pressured to pardon Trump.

Good Morning.  Short day at school today, and then I'll head home and sit on the couch for the rest of the day.  I upgraded my iPhone yesterday and it's out for delivery for Monday.  However, I neglected to change my address on my account, so it's going to the old address.  I'm going to attempt again to get that changed through Fed-Ex but it's not easy.

It’s time to get down to business as love-focused Venus enters serious Capricorn today. You put the effort into other areas of your life, like your career and friendships, right, so why do you expect love to just “happen?” Most people know that the secret to long-lasting and happy relationships is to put in the work—and that’s exactly what this transit is going to help you do.

Are you up for the challenge? Part of taking advantage of this hardworking energy is getting your mind right and deciding once and for all that you deserve the best that love has to offer. Once you decide to make an effort, there’s no limit to the happiness you can achieve. Don’t be afraid to tackle the tough stuff—with this energy surrounding you, there’s nowhere to go but up.

I don't know if anyone would be interested, but I just discovered on YouTube but I just discovered a delightful French production of Offenbach's opera-bouffe, La Belle Héléne, from 1986. Act One covers the arrival of Trojan prince Paris to Sparta, his meeting Helen and winning a contest of wit and intellect, and corrupt priest Calchas' sending her husband Menelaus off to Crete to appease the gods so Helen and Paris can fall in love.  Act Two covers the seduction and Menelaus' return to find Paris and Helen together.  Act Three takes place on the beach after the goddess Venus has sent a curse on the populace, The priest of Venus arrives and says Helen must go to Cythera to appeal to the goddess.  When she discovers the priest is Paris in disguise, she elopes with him.

Looks like I was able to change the shipping address on my Verizon order.  It's been a pain, however.  It's hard to talk to a real person, my local store is only open on Monday and Tuesday now.  I was able to get things done through chat, but it's frustrating.  At least it's done.
