The weather turned out to be quite pleasant: clear but chilly. I got to the shop around 9:50, so it took me around 20 minutes to get from my apartment to the street and the walk. I just walked in, so the whole adventure was an hour. I like this shop a lot.

Tuesday morning greetings! Yesterday was the last day (for me) of the virtual ALA Midwinter conference and it was a great one! The closing speaker was Dr. Jill Biden and her "warm-up act" was the young Inaugural poet Amanda Gorman. I also watched 2 wonderful book/author panels. While I miss the energy of being there in person, I'm grateful to have this online alternative right now.

But she also said something that haunts me. She was talking about the importance of somehow journaling (writing, drawing, etc.) during times of stress like now during the pandemic and said, "...when this is over in five or ten years from now..."
