Today's biggest remaining task is to finish up a book called Book of Ages, a biography of Benjamin Franklin's sister Jane. It's been a rather interesting effort, but there is so little information on Jane that the appeal lies in information about the times of her life.

Yes, we had some rain. Heavy rain was predicted, but what we got here in my 'hood was just a normal rain. Much better. We need the rain, but we don't need flooding.

I just attended virtual Shabbat services at a Chicago synagogue. Some of the musical settings featured a person playing what I learned is an EVI, or electronic valve instrument. You blow into it, I think, and then work the valves to play the various notes. It sounded variously like a cello, a clarinet, and various other things. I don't know if it was different devices to mimic the different instruments, or if the sound is altered electronically. It was kind of intriguing.
