Latest postal report:   I received my sister's Christmas card and gift (card) yesterday.   It was postmarked December 8, 2020.

My uncle and aunt in Columbus received my December 6th card just over a week ago.  Stunning, isn't it?

Yep!

I like DR KEVINH's list for the TOD.

I will add:

On Moonlight Bay & By The Light of Silvery Moon

I especially like Teacher's Pet & That Touch of Mink because the third wheel is played by Gig Young.  I think he would have made a much better rival for Rock Hudson than Tony Randall ever did....TR was so damned annoying.  There was NO WAY Doris' characters were going to end up with him!

I will also add SEND ME NO FLOWERS & MOVE OVER, DARLING to the list - they both have terrific supporting casts.

Today is my FIRST sister's birthday.  I was three years and five months old when she was born.  And my older brother and I were so excited when she came home!

What a thrill!

I just received in the mail a complimentary set of curettes.  I think I'm supposed to dig ear wax out with them, but they look like pretty scary implements.

I received a piece of mail in Louisville after I left. So, Mom sent it to me in a new envelope. It has now been 2 weeks and it still hasn't arrived.

I just finished Miss Scarlet and the Duke for the season. Very much enjoyed. I wonder what I will watch next.

I checked out a Chilean cookbook from the library called, appropriately enough, The Chilean Kitchen. it has several recipes of traditional dishes that I tried on my visit there, and many more that I want to try. But it is a most perverse cookbook in terms of the recipes matching up with the photos. They don't.

In one recipe, the writer tells us to not use cast-iron because it will react with the tomatoes, so the photo, of course, features the dish in a cast-iron skillet. In another recipe, the dish is to be inverted onto a serving plate so that the cooking slows down by being out of the hot pan; it is photographed served straight from the pan. And so on. It's really strange.

It's supposed to be sunny, but it looks like rain. I guess I had better take advantage of that and get a little gardening done in case it gets too hot.

Anyway, we picked up a big grocery order yesterday in anticipation of the snow/rain/snow rain event that's predicted for tonight, tomorrow, and Monday.  There's a big batch of chili in the crockpot that should be ready about the time the snow arrives.

Chili sounds so great. But I'm not really up to getting the ingredients together and making it this time around. And we've already got plenty of stuff that needs eatin' over the next few days.

I do, however, have everything required for chili, cheese and onion hot dogs!

I did a little more than an hour of yard work. Got the roses trimmed back and one bush that needs work. that filled the can, so the rest will have to wait until after Monday's yard waste pickup.

I cleared away a little spot to put in some radish plants, but there is an underground cable in the path. I don't want to go near it.
