Oh, and Look Back in Anger has always appealed to me.

OH! OH! OH!  - Thornton Wilder's The Skin of Our Teeth - Although the production from the Old Globe about 15-20(?) years ago had a great cast - and it's available on DVD!  :)

DR MBARNUM - please give us the highlights of this month's Classic Images!

No interviews, but there is a story on Teresa Wright and a story on a couple of others whose names escape me so early in the morning.

Kimmel & Haines---didn't they once open for Totie Fields?  I could swear I remember catching them at the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, NJ in '74.

I don't know about that, but I know that
Mary Hill used to hang out in Cherry Hill Park
The game she played lasted all day till way after dark
All the girls they criticized her
But all the guys just idolized her
Cause Mary Hill was such a thrill after dark
In Cherry Hill Park

That's right DR Ben, I shall be at Anthony's show next Saturday. This may reduce the suave and debonair quotient by a bit though...

I just got the following e-mail from our Fuel Oil Hunk Man:
Quote
Hey all,
I have my 5 mins of fame coming up. I volunteered to work at the House in St James for the TV show extreme Makeover back in March. I don't know how much of me they'll show but i put the cesspools in and had Ty hanging off my machine.I am running the excavator(looks like a really big backhoe with tracks) It is supposed to air May 8th Sunday night at 8 PM. It should be interseting. It was quite an experience, but it was for good cause. Hope you can watch.
Kenny

We, of course, will be watching and taping.

For those of you who need further motivation to watch, here is Kenny moonlighting in a rock band:

THE MIRACLE WORKER would be the play I'd revive, but not with 2 time Oscar winner Hiliary Swank as was in the plans a couple of seasons ago. Maybe the lady she defeated for the Oscar - Annette Bening would make a good Annie Sullivan.

Have last night's MEDIUM on the DVR to watch today along with Sunday's DEADWOOD. So much quality TV, so little time.

Oops, I forgot that I also recorded last night's '24' which I also haven't seen yet. Well, at least I have tomorrow night off and with a clean slate for a full day, should be able to clear off the DVR by tomorrow night.

Alas, EYES doesn't come on this week, replaced by that ABC expose on AMERICAN IDOL.

DR CP - after THE COLOSSUS OF RHODES this morning, Mr Robert Osborne mentioned that the movie had started filming with John Derek in the leading role, but that Mr Sergio Leone thought Mr Derek was a bit too free with his directing advice.  Derek was canned, and Calhoun who happened to be in the area on vacation was at work the next day.

The latest edition of "The Cue Sheet", published quarterly by the Film Music Society, is devoted to Harold Arlen and is a gem!  Articles by Arlen's son, granddaughter, John Fricke and Marilee Bradford bring Arlen's career, both in Hollywood and on Broadway, into focus.

~~~Money Raising Vibes to DR Joey!!~~~
~~~Levy Vibes to DR Ginny!!~~~

~~~Voice In Good Health Vibes to Mr. Guy Haines & BK!!~~~
Play that I'd like revived:  Noises Off!  I played Tim Allgood in a local production about 12 years ago.  I'd love to play the role again. ;D I would, of course, be part of a production that played on Broadway...making my Broadway debut! ;)
I'm up, I'm up.  I should have just watched The Colossus of Rhodes, because we had the Mormon Tabernacle Bird Choir outside last night and I didn't fall asleep until after two.  These birds sing beautifully but they seem to be very stupid and can't tell night from day.  As soon as daylight hit they all went to sleep and there wasn't a peep outside the bedroom windows.
Robert Osborne is alarming-looking these days.  First, he ballooned up to about three hundred pounds.  Now, he's lost fifty or sixty pounds but still seems to be wearing his old sportcoats.  He's also had hideous work done on his face, especially his eyes - does he think that we don't remember what he looked like one year ago?  Ah, vanity.
I have morning voice, but I feel pretty good - a bit tired, of course, but I don't feel vocally weak.  Just send your vibes and xylophones come noon and keep 'em coming until four.
Kenny is an admirer of female pulchridude:
I was seen on last night's "Antiques Roadshow" from Portland!!  There was a woman who had a "blue bowl" (that's how I described it and it turns out that that's how it was described when she found it at an estate auction) and you can see me in the background at the beginning of the segment.  It's about 14 minutes into the episode.  The reason that I'm quoting the message and the picture above, is that I own the same green Hawaiian-type shirt that the guy's wearing (different size, I'm sure ;)) and I was wearing it on "Antiques Roadshow!"  What a co-inky-dink!!
Well, if we're playing by THESE rules, I'd go with elmore's earlier suggestion of Look Homeward, Angel so I could reprise the role of Helen Gant.  The only casting I can think of is Meryl Streep as the mother.
Other plays:  A Thousand Clowns and Two for the Seesaw.
Various Trial Court Administrators are making my life cranky this morning...I don't know how some of them ever mangaged to get the jobs that they are in!
Anyway, The Modernaires with Paula Kelly are singing and it is putting me into a more blissful state.
In fact they are now singing Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah right now.
I'm sipping the first of the day's three EmergenC drinks (actually, maybe only two, since the session will be over prior to drinking the third in the evening.
Had a lovely conversation with Mr. Tony Walton just now.  No more phone calls until I get home.
DR Rodzinski, where in Montreal were you?  Unless you were very far east most people should have been bilingual.
Cool pics DR MichaelShayne.
Btw, tonight is the second to last episode of Amazing Race.  Cannot wait to see who gets eliminated tonight (as long as it's not romber. :) )
