IT WAS THIRTY YEARS AGO TODAY

Well, you've read the notes, you know all the things we're celebrating on this celebratory day, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home, which might just be thirty years from today.

Well, I've quite overtired from last night's lack of sleep, so I shall now toddle off to the bedroom environment to get my beauty sleep.

Jackie Wayne aka KXN's Jack Salvatore - sent me a couple of pictures from his performing days.  He was one of the teen agers in the first tour of BYE BYE BIRDIE, and also appeared in the show with Selma Diamond in stock.

He also played "the Kid" in DAMN YANKEES and sent a nice photo of the cast taken shortly before Gwen left.

Most of my "cult" favorites are of the sci-fi variety that have several fans.

I would guess that one film that I like that is NOT so well known or liked would be SHOCK TREATMENT, which is the sequel to ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW.  It has been mentioned here before.  I really like the score!  And the premise is very funny.

Hey, Mr. Barnum, I found a program on BBC that might interest you. It's called Film Café and according to the blurb it presents the latest Bollywood news and music.

Here is the link to the home page. Click on Listen Again and you can have a weekly radio dose of your beloved Bollywood!

I mentioned this film a couple of days ago. I don't know if it's a cult film in the genre of Rocky Horror or the like but I know that many people have never heard of it. The movie is The Ruling Class and it stars the wonderful Peter O'Toole.

TFNM deserves every bit of success it has had over the years.  Of the over 300 DVDs in my collection (some of which I have never had the time to watch) it is still the most played.  And all the success that BK has had stems from that wonderful film.

9:00 am!  Oy!  I really slept in this morning.  My body refused to move at 7:00 am, and now I've lost a couple of hours.  Today's a work at home day for me:  I've got to get most of my homework done before the surgery, since most of June and July will be occupied with getting (hopefully) BABES IN TOYLAND ready for release and THE GOLDEN APPLE ready for concert.

DRAnn, so what is the job?   Did you tell us your new career move and I missed it?

DRGeorge, I believe DRFrancois is also a fan of the new cast recording.

DRMattH, I beg to differ with you about Miss Lansbury on LAW & ORDER; I didn't believe for one second the woman was blind to her son's actions.  She was pure evil and aware of everything, probably behind the painting of epithets on the walls of the raped girl's apartment.

Dear Friend BK, I am thrilled to be sharing the 30th anniversary of one of my favorite movies, which was the reason I first called you.  Of course, I didn't see it until August, 1979, at the 94th Street Thalia; I'm not suire I was even aware of it before Aug. 1979, but it's certainly my favorite cult film.

TOD:
   1.  THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL
2 . THE KING OF HEARTS
   3.  THIS IS SPINAL TAP
   4.  PINK FLAMINGOS

Happy Birthday to DR George.

Congratulations to DR Ann.

Continued vibes of all sorts to those who need them.

Will have to think of cult movies.  THough I imagine that VOTD fits the bill, to some degree.
