And on a sad note (D-flat), the flash drive that I use the most just totally crapped out and died.  The files are not retrievable. :(

I don't think that there was anything profoundly important on it, but I had downloaded a LOT of YouTube videos, and many that were only on YouTube for a limited time.  I HATE it when that happens! :'(

All was good last night until 3:45 when Stella went mad and drove me crazy. As Joe Orton once wrote, With madness, as with vomit, it's the passerby who receives the inconvenience.

The British folksong, "The Bailiff's Daughter of Islington," kept running through my head during Stella's hour of insanity.

I had one dream I vaguely remember and one that I remember quite well: I was working at The Drama Book Shop, at the last address where I was an employee at Seventh Avenue and 48th Street. The manager of a clothing shop on a higher floor stopped in to warn me that a customer he suspected of fraud might try to use our shipping dept. to send a huge number of articles of clothing - I only remember 5 peacoats now - to California. The customer had been in the shop the day before and pulled the clothing, but, since the manager told him his shop did not ship, he wasn't purchasing the items until he had found a means of shipping them. The manager had bad vibes about the customer and wasn;t sure how to proceed.  The remainder of the dream was calls to various credit card companies and discussing the issue with James and Emory in the shipping dept.

That sent me scrambling to CNN, DR elmore3003!  It's Prince Philip who died. A little bit more expected.

That U-TURN movie was a Twilight Time release, was it not? I watched it back then, but all I remember is that it takes place in a southwestern desert type of locale and has something to do with a car. And, I guess, bad people. I don't remember Liv Tyler or Julie Hagerty. I couldn't have told you it was an Oliver Stone film, either.

This evening on the MET's stream is Shostakovich's The Nose:

Starring Andrey Popov, Alexander Lewis, and Paulo Szot, conducted by Pavel Smelkov. Production by William Kentridge. From October 26, 2013.

I watched parts of it last night time and was enjoying it, but I have yet to see the whole thing.
Tonight, though...who knows?

I loved that production of The Nose. Very visually strange. Fun music. Kafka would approve.

Alexa is playing some Ethel Merman this morning. I don’t know why, but she’s now tackling Make It Another Old-Fashioned, Please, which doesn’t seem right for the morning.
