I’ve done the burger wrapped in lettuce thing a couple of times when low-carbing. I guess it worked, I don’t really remember how well. Most of the time, though, I opted to just eat it on a plate.
I'm pleased the announce the publication of JACK OAKIE, a one-person play, available in both paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon and elsewhere. For those of you who are too young to remember Jack Oakie, he co-starred in many musicals during the 1930s-1940s (e.g. TIN PAN ALLEY, HELLO, FRISCO, HELLO), plus THE CALL OF THE WILD with Clark Gable...and Charlie Chaplin's revered film, THE GREAT DICTATOR.I knew Jack Oakie back in the day, and I think I've captured his zany nature in my play.Performance rights are available. https://www.amazon.com/JACK-OAKIE-One-Person-Play-Acts-ebook/dp/B092LF9L6X/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=jack+oakie+druxman&qid=1618494878&s=books&sr=1-1

Jules Dassin was making a comment about his hearing on the Thieves Highway DVd and I’d never heard that before.

DR TCB yes.....The Space Children featured a young actor in a leading role who later played Lawrence's lover in LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. He is now a banker in England. It also featured the shell of a mobile home and interiors used by Lucy & Desi in The Long, Long Trailer. And a gigantic brain.
