I'm sure Elmore wants her in another show. I wouldn't mind that at all.

According to my insurance company, the freezer foods should be fine for up to 24 hours, as long as the doors weren't open, which they weren't. The fridge is another matter, but I don't think I have to throw much out. Maybe some dairy. Most of it is produce or things like pickles and condiments (and beer and wine).

I am glad DR JANE got the adjustment on her spectacles.  Nothing can be more irritating than having glasses that don't fit.

Thank you though they never really fit as they are always sliding down my nose.  It was the pain that was irritating.

Do you have a chest freezer or “deep freeze” that can build up frost?

You aren’t saying you’d have to throw out beer and wine, are you?

Thank you, TCB, for your getaway suggestion last night. As it happens, 3 or 4 years ago I looked at motel rates in my area. I couldn't believe it! $200 was about the lowest rate for anything decent. And it went up quickly. There's a place about a mile or so from me that looks like a real dump outside: $140/night -- and only a communal bathroom! No. Simply no. For something kinda special, like on or near the beach, $500/night. No way. The price would seriously disturb any tranquility I might otherwise gain.

My getaway will have to wait a bit. For now I shall simply stay home, indulge in my favorite take-out meals, and curl up with a movie or good book. As things open up and I feel more comfortable, I'll reassess.

Speaking of getting away, today I went shopping for the first time since March 2020, I think, in a store that wasn't a supermarket. I'd been planning to go to Bed, Bath & Beyond one day to shop for new sheets. Then Covid hit. The stores reopened a while ago, but I had no desire to shop. Of course, I could have shopped online, but I wanted to see and feel the sheets before purchase. I found a set on sale for $19.99, plus I had a coupon for $5 off, so I got a bargain. Sheet sets at the other stores I usually shop started around $100, though I saw some at Amazon that were cheaper.

In case anyone was wondering, I was NOT born to shop!

I am trying compression stockings this morning.

I feel like a sausage.

There's a real art to getting compression stockings on. I hope someone showed you how to do it.

I am extremely impressed with the price.  What sheets did you purchase.  We also need to take a trip to Bed, Bath, & Beyond so I can feel the sheets.

Did they have sample swatches out like they used to have or could you feel them inside the packaging?

I watched about two minutes of the President's speech last night, but couldn't get beyond

that.

I'm sure it was fine and by comparison - wonderful - but I could not get enthusiastic about it.  And as usual in these things - the partisan applause was just too much.

Of course at least we didn't have Hillary Clinton who made childish faces and moved around like she was sitting on an ant hill during one of the speeches of GWB.....

I don't even watch presidential speeches from presidents I like -- and I do like my old pal Joe Biden. Joe isn't the most colorful politician, which some of us appreciate, but I like what he's trying to do. He may seem a llttle blah, but I prefer than to some others I could mention.

I am back from finally getting my new glasses adjusted. Instead of little hard plastic nose guards I have slightly larger, much more comfortable silicone ones.

I sympathize. Frames really need to fit your face properly. I'd prefer to forego the fashion and concentrate on well-made frames that fit properly. I had this discussion with an optician once. Fashion drives the frames business, unfortunately. When I find a frame I like I keep it for many years.
