I was visiting hell earlier and you'll never guess who I ran into - vixmom.  Isn't life filled with coincidences.

I've been quite busy - lots of morning phone calls, then I roughed out and finished the play.  Then I did banking and picked up a Fed Ex envelope, then I ate, and then I began entering the final proofing person's corrections and fixes.

Well my day was full of processing employee paperworks...new hires, terminations, transfers, leaves...now I am leaving and having my hairs cut.

Hi fellow dear readers.

I've finally had a chance to catch up a bit.

~~~~~~ Good vibes to Elmore and Tom, even though they are late.
Jane, Bogie is a handsome gentleman. Glad to hear he ate for you.
JRand, I'm not surprised it's raining in Indiana. Hope you are staying dry.
Rodzinski, we thought the same thing about the pond when we took the photos.
Today I went to the church and spent three hours hand-watering some of the plants that were planted last week. I sure hope they get the automatic watering system installed soon -- the heat and sun gave me a splitting headache. And it's only 97 degrees today!
Rodzinski, if you're not listening to WMKV, you're missing an hour of music featuring Bea Wain, vocalist for Larry Clinton's orchestra!
I have to say, Jane, I don't know where Oakland, NJ is at all. In which part of the Garden State is it?
No. Bergen County at the base of the Ramapoo (spelling?) Mountains.  It wasn’t too far from Wycoff, Paramous and Hackensack.
A quick hi folks because for whatever reason the power is going on and off.  I think there was a wreak someplace nearby because I could hear all the sirens.
[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]
Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to DR  FRANCOIS DE PARIS!  Many, many, many more!
[/move]
I have decided to move to France, BTW, after hearing that ya’ll get an average of 32 paid vacation days a year!  That would work for me!
BK, I don’t know how I am going to be able to keep my promise to you that I would come and see your next play when I’ve already promised that I would go back to NY in October.  Unless it’s going to BE in NY in October?
Gosh, there are so many things to wish for, I don’t know what I would really, really want.  Some simple, some quite dramatic.   Some I could tell you, some I couldn’t share with anyone.
I’d better scoot while the power is still on.  It’s shut off 3 times already and I know that’s not good for my computer—I’d better power down myself and call it a night.
Have a wonderful evening all!  :)
Ozderek a big Ozzy hug back to you for passing along Tom’s news.
Keith called me to join him outside.  He was very  excited as we had over 100 Cedar Wax Wing birds flying around.  They are beautiful.  Sorry, no time for pictures.
I have endured and finished the two hour "event" of Alias.  It was not a two hour "event" - it was two one hour shows back to back.  All they did was delete the opening credits of the second hour.  That, if you ask me, is rather distasteful, advertising-wise, if not a downright lie.  Even with the two back to back one hour show masquerading as a two-hour "event" there was no event.  There was yet more bathos, there were a couple of non "surprises" which were tiresome, and a hint that there will be a "surprise" in next week's season finale.  The "surprise" should be no "surprise" to anyone with a brain.  This show has run its course - put it out of its misery or bring some new blood in on the creative staff.
Thank you DR Laura.  Bogie continues to eat, not much but enough.  What goes in must come out and that unfortunately hasn't happened yet.
Why does EVERY show think it must end the season with a cliff hanger or SHOCK or SURPRISE that usually means nothing and leads to nothing?  Wouldn't it be better just to have good writing and good acting so that we look forward to a show returning in the fall?   Maybe it's too much to ask for.  Maybe that's why I usually watch the OLD shows again and again.
I am in unemployment hell....but next week I start working on a show I am directing for the summer, and once that show is over, I am choreographing PIPPIN, so I have sort of decided just to take the rest of the summer off from SERIOUS job hunting.....do it casually....and just have some theatre fun.
It's not as if I am fending off job offers, but that's okay.  I will live vicariously through the jobs of the DR's and all of MR BK's activities.  AND I may even get some writing of my own done!
Well, sort of poopy here at haineshisway.com tonight.  It's very hot here in the City of Studio.  Even the home environment is stultifying.  I put on the air, but it gets really cold really fast.  I also don't react well to the air.  Then I turn it off, then it's hot again in ten minutes.  I'm going to get something sweet to give me some energy.
Sounds like you will have a fun summer JRand54!
Ya, it is odd that every show now seems to end the season on a cliffhanger. It never used to be that way and I don't know when that really started happening.
Fox did a good job with MYRA BRECKINRIDGE. But when are they releasing VALLEY OF THE DOLLS which had been announced actually for a 2004 release, and it never arrived.
WITHOUT A TRACE certainly had an unnecessary shock ending tonight. Yep, it has become the ultimate cliche that some member of the cast of a drama is put in harm's way to keep viewers hanging on all summer until the show returns to sort things out.
Cheap tension techniques, if you ask me. . . .
I haven't gotten to ALIAS yet. I have those two hours, and the two hours tonight of CSI and the one hour of WILL & GRACE to get through over the weekend.
Daytime Emmys tomorrow night!
Yes, I cannot stomach those season finale promos - thank heavens I don't watch any of that stuff.  It certainly never used to be that way.  The season would end.  A few months later the season would begin.  If the show was good, audiences would return.  Simple as pie, really.  The hype, with that voice over guy who should be run out of town (well, it's not his fault - run the idiot network youngsters out of town), it's just vomit-inducing.
Good Evening!
Back from the show...  Good show.
And for tomorrow night and the Saturday matinee, I go back to Keys 2.  Then I'm back on Keys 4 for the rest of the weekend shows.  When I mentioned that we would be switching around quite a bit in the pit this week to the Sound Op, he just said, "Well, whatever chair you guys end up in when the music stops it the Keyboard you're gonna play that night."  :)
DR Joey - What you "did" on the previous page was not coming up for me in Safafi (Mac), and then when I tried it in IE, it didn't really do anything either.  At least here on this end.  However, it does seem to have put my browser window in widescreen mode.
