When I went on Amazon to look for the new Ghosts of Versailles DVD, it said that it was “by Patti LuPone.” What does that mean?

It means just what you think it does, DR John G.  She controls the entire universe.

In the opera there is an entertainment with a middle-eastern singer named Samara, as I recall, and Marilyn Horne origionally played the role. I believe Patti Lupone played it for the Los Angeles Opera.

Henry doesn't want a chair...he wants to be up on the table.  My mom actually has a short cardboard box that he likes to lie in, and it helps in keeping him from lying right in front of someone where the cards need to be.

I can't think of a better solution :)

HERE is a link to someone's Bing picture archive, and HERE is a link to the specific picture, once it's no longer available through www.bing.com.

It looks better here.

It took me a minute to remember why you made this statement :))

I was wondering about that, but Singdaw’s explanation really nails it.

Everything's fine here. Most of the power outages are in the eastern half of the state. We're in the far western side.

The storm tracked farther east than predicted and we didn't get much of anything except a rainy day. But its force also greatly diminished, so we barely got any winds either, which is the best news.

The scene with Horne was a showstopper. I went twice, and I thank the gods the production was preserved on video. Here's a YouTube link that should start just before her entrance (go to 1:16:00 if it doesn't):

Sunday afternoon greetings!  The crew that was supposed to be here at 8am yesterday to complete the front porch demolition had too many call-offs, so they’ll have to reschedule.  Richard was away overnight Friday-Saturday at a clergy meeting in Indiana and, to be honest, I was relieved that I didn’t have to monitor that work by myself.  I had a very quiet 30 hours and was glad to see Richard return late yesterday afternoon.

Very warm here today.....lunch at my uncle's house.  And he sent me home with the leftover pizza.  Which means pizza for dinner this evening.

Today is Tyrone Power Day on TCM....which is fine.

My uncle says that when he watched TCM now - every 15 minutes or so, he has commercials.  I told him he must be watching it on some kind of streaming service, but he didn't seem to think that was the case.

Next time I am there I will look at it and see what the dealio is.
