I'm happy that Pen Farthing and his animals are boarded onto a cargo plane and ready to leave Kabul. I am so sorry that the Taliban would not let his Afghanistan staff leave as well, and I pray to God they will be safe in Kabul.

Good news, and not good news.

I love these photos of Mark Twain and his kittens.

Those are great pictures, Larry!

That was around 4:00.  They immediately put me on an IV of insulin, and I was on IV's until just before midnight. Former DR Jose came up to stay with me and bought his new Smart Phone. To add insult to injury, my idiot doctor never answered his phone to the many calls the ER doctors made to him that night. I still believe the HMO finally sacked the bastard.

Richard and I were in town when this happened and were pleased that a day or 2 later you felt up to dinner at Artie’s:

That's a very nice picture, Ginny!

You may remember that several weeks ago I asked for vibes for my dear friend Peter Foley. The cancer got him, and he died yesterday morning at 8:30. I was lucky to know and love him for twenty years. We met in Spring 2001 at the new Packard Humanities Institute office on East 72nd Street when we were summoned by John McGlinn to explain the project. He worked as one of my music copyists through the PHI days and was indispensable to me during the period 2011-2013 on recording Roberta, Eileen, and Dearest Enemy. He then assisted me on several small projects, the last being the dreadfully inept Carnegie Hall Babes in Toyland concert two or threee years ago. I will miss him.

He was a wonderful husband and father to Kate and Grace, and my heart bleeds for them.

I'm so sorry, Larry.  My condolences to you and to his family. :(

I'm up, I'm up - was up at seven after three hours of sleep, back in bed at nine, so maybe I got seven hours of sleep. I don't think the Hollywood Show will be happening for me today. And now I'm dealing with a musical director who says he now can't do the anniversary show - his main gig is the Magic Castle. He gave them this date that he needed off weeks ago. And they booked him anyway. I told him he had to talk to them and make this right, but he just keeps saying they'll fire him, which they cannot. He's done this before - in fact, I had to rearrange the Group Rep show four times for him. Can't do it for this one, it's way too late in the game to find someone else, and I'm trying to hold in my annoyance right now because if I unleash and go to bad BK land HE will be as unhappy as I am.

Oh, my! :o

Had In-N-Out for lunch - cheeseburger and fries. And just had about four ounces of pasta with butter and cheese for the evening snack.

Today, I went to my sister's and helped her move some stuff in her garage to get it ready for a garage sale next weekend to benefit the Olympia chapter of PFLAG.

My sister's boyfriend got us all food from The Olympia Oyster House, a local restaurant that's been through several owners recently.

He got the family style cod fish & chips, which was eight pices of fish, a big box of fries, a box of cole slaw, and four rolls. :)

Even though the food wasn't piping hot when he got back to my sister's house, it all was real good!

However, when I dipped the fries in the tartar sauce, the sauce seemed to have lost its flavor...to me, at least.

It was quite tasty when I had some on the fish, but I could only taste the fries when I ate those with the tartar sauce.

My sister and Larry each only had one piece of fish, so I took home one of the two leftover fish and will hopefully have that sometime tomorrow.
