The full choir returns at my church gig right after Labor day.

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

The sanctuary seats 1,300, so there's plenty of space to spread out.  The director plans to have us all spaced quite far apart, and masks will be required in the building at all times. So we'll see.

A question for the class --

Who here is familiar with the Off-Off-B'way Boy Meets Boy from 1975, and how good a show is it? I don't know it, and I've been asked to consider it for a slot next year.

I not only know the show, but I know Bill Solly, its composer, a really lovely man, and I once arranged a medly from the show for the NYC Gay Men's Chorus, who also staged a wonderfully funny production.  That said, I am not crazy about the show or the score.

I don't even know if the performance materials for Boy Meets Boy have a piano part or simply lead sheets. I write the medley from lead sheets.

Long before I met Bill Solly, I saw the funniest workshop of a musical he'd written about Exodus, Mrs. Moses, from her viewpoint. It was outrageously funny, and Mrs Moses was played by Vicki Lewis, whom I'd never seen before. We didn't become friends until she was dating Lewis Stadlen.

Speaking of Vicki Lewis, BK, has she ever done a Kritzerland show?

Ha! I must not have been the only person to complain. They will mail paper tickets to me, except for the Hamilton one. They'll hold that one at will-call.

Excellent!

DR Elmore, yes. I'll bring him some cookies. Didn't you have two friends in that show?

Oh I'm late.  I got up at 9:30 a.m. - which is practically NOON (said like Don Loper in "I Love Lucy") in these here parts.

Vibes for DR TCB.

Vibes for DR ELMORE in his quest.

I am so glad that DR LAURA made some progress in her ticket debacle.

I think this is what happens when they put somebody YOUNGER in charge of something.  They just ASSUME that everybody can and/or will bow to their technology.

And you know what happens when you ASS U ME.

What great notes!!!!

I fell in love with so many of the OBCs that are mentioned in the notes and by other DRs.

It was as close to being in a theatre that this kid from Indiana was ever going to get in those days.

GYPSY is probably my favorite.  Of course THE SOUND OF MUSIC and BYE BYE BIRDIE were so much fun!

I kept buying the new versions of COMPANY - until the revival with Doogie Houser.....there's just no way anyone can beat the original OBC.....for me.

CANDIDE - yes!  Now I want to play them all over again.

We got our lease renewal letter, with a few options.

But the monthly rent was going to be higher if we renewed for 18 months than if we renewed for 12.

I thought, that can't be right.

8 rounds of emails later, it was still not resolved.

So yesterday, I went down to the office, put the letter in front of them, and asked them to explain it.

Oh...  I guess we transposed the two lines...

Not only did they not apologize, but their excuse was, It's very busy down here.

I learned about African eggplant, a tiny fruit that looks like tiny tomatoes. You can eat them raw or cooked. We tried them raw. Bitter and enjoyable. One nickname for them is bitter balls.

I do not like foods with a bitter taste though it was interesting to read about them.

They were on Broadway, but not on the tour.  I don't know if Adam Grupper is going on the tour or not as Doolittle.

A friend who owns a couple of nice pet stores ranted on Facebook yesterday.  This is part of her rant.

a long time customer... come into one of my stores and ask me if I could get IVERMECTIN... no mask either.  I said no... not just no... but HELL NO!!... and walked away.

I love that she said HELL NO!

I don't know anything about The Story of Adele H., but it is interesting to me that the story, at least superficially, appears to bear a strong similarity to the story of Sondheim and Lapine's Passion.

That's the first thing that I thought of, too.

I have begun "Annabelle & Thatch" submissions again. The book is better now, and I'm hopeful. I've done seven since yesterday afternoon. The impossible agency is ICM. I defy antone to find a literary agent on their site:

I have the album but I haven't listened to it in years.  I remember that it's very 1970s...that's about it. :-\
