A friend who owns a couple of nice pet stores ranted on Facebook yesterday.  This is part of her rant.

a long time customer... come into one of my stores and ask me if I could get IVERMECTIN... no mask either.  I said no... not just no... but HELL NO!!... and walked away.

 ::)

I love that she said HELL NO!

Jane, I don't understand the animosity toward Ivermectin. Did she feel that the customer was not being responsible? I certainly don't support the harassment she received, but the drug itself has been supported by a number of very credible doctors as being worth, at least, further study. It was used in India with fairly good results. Many people are truly fearful of Covid and I can understand that they might want to have access to a drug should they get ill.

I am. Tonight is the outdoor concert featuring Carpathia Jenkins and the symphony. They’re doing a tribute to Aretha Franklin.

Sampling lots of local brews. A most pleasant and unusual was a Cucumber Gose, which had a nice, salty minerality to it.

The sun came out this afternoon and warmed things up into the mid-70s. Perfect for a lazy afternoon.

The animosity stems from people saying vaccines are not safe or proven, while at the same time willing to take Ivermectin intended for horses.  People have ended up in the hospital after taking it.

An unmasked customer when her store says masks, yes I would say the customer was not being responsible.  I think to sell this drug which is intended for animals for human consumption would have been irresponsible.

From what I have read there are currently small studies for appropriate doses of Ivermectin for people with covid.  It still hasn't been proven but people with covid can get doctors to prescribe it.

I understand wanting access to a drug if they get sick, but if you are that concerned I would expect them to wear a mask, especially when the local hospitals are overflowing with covid patients.

You are being generous and tactful, DR Jane.  I'm afraid I have no sympathy for people that won't even take basic precautions.

I am so glad that DR LAURA made some progress in her ticket debacle.

I think this is what happens when they put somebody YOUNGER in charge of something.  They just ASSUME that everybody can and/or will bow to their technology.

And you know what happens when you ASS U ME.

I agree that younger people assume that everyone has and knows how to use technology,

And the other way -     I have to remind myself that I can't mention a "John Belushi type" and assume everyone knows what type that is.

I was only offering, what I consider, a fair response to the question.

When my dad turned 100 last September (2020), I'd looked for whether that was still celebrated, but I couldn't find anything.  Dad passed away Feb 13 2021, but 100 plus six months is a nice run that I wouldn't imagine for myself.

Wow.  That's amazing.
