Well, you've read the notes, the notes were blurry, and now it is time for you to post until the blurry cows come home.

Today, I'm going on a bit of an adventure.  My friend David is coming down from Seattle for a visit, and we're going to a restaurant that he wants to try, but it's even further south in Chehalis, about a half hour from where I live.  I don't remember what the restaurant is, but I'll find out soon enough.

Off to bed so that I can be awake while I drive us down to Chehalis (I borrowed my niece's newer car).

Have a good day, all!

Last night I dreamed about my friend Peter Foley, who died last Friday. In the dream, I was working at The Drama Book Shop, and I had taken a week off to be part of a workshop of a show for which Peter had composed the score. My Drama Book Shop friend Kathy Briggs, who now lives in New Zealand, was working on the show as well. My late DBS employer, Arthur Seelen, was also in the dream. At any rate, my last vision of Peter in the dream was at the end of the workshop as I returned to the Book Shop at 48th Street and Seventh Avenue. He was riding a bike as I walked, and I watched him ride away, down Seventh Avenue.

DR Jeanne, I don't think you should stop posting. If a DR seems contentious to you, do what I do and block them.

DR Jeanne, about proofreading: I finished Julian Fellowes' novel Belgravia last night, and I wonder if he proofread it, someone else did, or didn't care. There are several incomplete sentences - which he does a lot - that left me wondering WTF is he saying, and on one page, the character of Jane Croft is referred to as Ellen Croft. On the other hand, the novel did answer several questions I had after watching the miniseries.

Happy Sunday to one and all...I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday weekend!  There's a new Broadway Radio Show up on the site for your listening pleasure.  It's the 4th Edition of Show Tunes on the Air where we look back at how many people heard show tunes in the 40s, 50s & 60s -- on the radio or LP records.  This edition focuses on 3 men who all covered songs from musical theatre...Vic Damone, Johnny Desmond & Billy Eckstine.  I hope you enjoy!

Sorry about the unemployment, Elmore.

Thanks. The Dept of Labor suggests I apply for NYC aid. so I started filling out the application. It asked for my landlord, so I typed in "A.J. Clarke Real Estate Corp." but it won't accept it. The site demands a FIRST NAME! Since I cannot provide that, I can go no further in applying.

Did you get to send in today's claim report before receiving the boot, DR Elmore?

I can't believe their form doesn't allow for landlords being corporations and management companies.
It's NY State, for &#@*'s sake. Are you kidding me?

It doesn't even have to be NY, of course. Many many many landlords across this great land of ours are companies, not individuals.

I posted this on the Book of Face, but it deserves to be here.

This morning's repast.

Tiny picture, sorry, and you can't tell from this, but there's close to 6 oz of nova on that thing, and that’s a LOT. And there was no way to eat it that way — one attempt at taking a bite and it would have gone in all directions. I had to rebuild it as two open-face ones.

STUFFED.  But oh, so satisfying.

From DR Jeanne:

Quote
I won't be posting again for a while. I feel my comments were misconstrued and that some topics carry too much emotion for rational discussion.

DR Jeanne I hope my response respectively & rationally answered your question without condemning it.  If not, I apologize.  I thought it was a fair question.

Yes, and I should get paid on Wednesday because of banks being closed tomorrow. My neighbor Judy insists that she heard we were getting six more weeks of PUA from NY State, but it don't look that way now.

Even before my shoulder made it necessary for me to switch to reading on a tablet, the print in many books and made them almost impossible to read.  The worst offenders were the very light print, then combine that with a small print, impossible.
