The audience for the evening show was very vocal and energetic. Just what we needed for the final show of the week.
During the curtain call, the guitar player motioned to me to look up into the audience... Usually he's pointing out some very nice looking young lady he's spotted, but not this time...
This time is was a
Mamma Maniac! And uber-fan!
I had seen this older gentleman before the show while we were waiting outside. He had on his
Mamma Mia! t-shirt and his baseball cap. And when I looked up during the curtain call, there he was standing at the edge of the pit. Smiling. Singing along. Dancing - and actually doing all the correct hand choreography.
Soon enough, all of us in the pit had very toothy grins. It got to the point where if we looked at each other, we would start giggling. Of course, that would make us look back at the gentleman-fan...

After we finished the playout music, the guitarist mentioned that he remembered him from the first time the show played DC. The guy saw the show a lot. And I guess he's starting his viewing cycle for this time round now too.
In any case... He was just what we all needed at the end of a long week.
And that is the power of ABBA!
