I've finished the autobiography of "fat, Jewish lesbian actress" (her description) Miriam Margolyse (Aunt Pru on Miss Fisher's Mysteries), which was wonderful. I admired her honesty, politics, humor, and sharp observation very much.
I'm now reading a novel by Gwen Cooper, Love Saves the Day, which so far is narrated by a cat named Prudence, who's around Annabelle's age. I hate the title, which to me smacks of Hallmark movies and romance novels, but the story deals with human relationships and a pet's situation when their owner and best friedn suddenly dies.
