And thanks to some angry gods or a retro Uranus or something, we got a small amount of snow early this morning. Thankfully, it's mostly visible on areas of grass and trees, and nary a sidewalk or driveway. Thankfully.

Best vibes for DR Elmore's ride scheduling proceeding as intended.

I remember no dreams from last night*, and I believe yesterday's didn't even come through.

(* yet -- because you never know what will pop up while you're doing the dishes or something)

BK posted two beautiful Sondheim songs, beautifully orchestrated by DR Elmore. Wonderful stuff.

I need to put a few of these CDs into the car, along with some Trotter ones, for my 30-minute commutes to and from the show.

I'm also planning a little Sondheim Fest for the coming couple of weeks, consisting of watching the filmed productions of Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park, Into the Woods (with an apologetic tip o' the hat to DR Elmore), and Passion -- which, shamefully, I have never even watched. I only have the latter on laserdisc, in fact; has it been issued on DVD? [EDIT: Yes, it was released by Image Entertainment.] These will be followed by a couple of the televised concerts, and then perhaps a couple of the revivals. We shall see.

DR freddie that is a photo of me at age 22 holding my baby sister, Molly.

You can really see the caring in that photo.

(If the caring is not real, never lose that photographer's phone number. My grandma Fannie had said when she found a great hairdresser,  if her hairdresser ever moved away, she'd have to move with her.)

Sunday afternoon greetings!  I am back from my college football marathon in which the Ohio team I was rooting FOR won (Cincinnati) and the one I was rooting AGAINST (Ohio State) lost to Michigan, 42-27.  It was the sweetest Michigan victory over OSU since 1969, my sophomore year.

I missed a few things here at HHW:

DR Jane’s good medical report,
DR Vixmom’s horrifying Thanksgiving story,
DR RonPulliam’s return, and

so many moving tributes to Stephen Sondheim.

Thank you for letting me lurk.

I gave the new-ish Anyone Can Whistle recording another try this morning, but I just found it inert and listless - especially the dialogue and narration.
They just drag the energy down.

It's quite cool here today, but sunny. I'll take it!

A friend of mine posted this observation:

Today, Jews and Christians begin their rituals of light - Hanukkah and Advent - with Kwanzaa joining in on December 6th. All share the practice of lighting growing numbers of candles to symbolize light overcoming darkness, no matter what its form. May we joyously embrace and reflect this light throughout this season and beyond.

Wishing the peace and joy of the season to all who celebrate, in whatever form.

Apologies to anyone who's seen this one a million times.
Today was my first time:

I'm giving up drinking until Christmas.

Sorry, wrong punctuation!

I'm giving up.  Drinking until Christmas.

I’m about a third in, and it’s funny. Really funny. And I always welcome that.

Nice.  It is also a reminder of why people say a general Happy Holidays.  I don't understand why people think the expression is an effort to take Christmas from them.

I didn't expect funny.  I will leave the hold in place.  It will be awhile before it is available.

Waiting to usher for Elf. Much smaller theater. Should be a little easier than the zoo that was the River Parade.
