I am pleased to report that my 1 p.m. appointment (a video conference) went by without a hitch. I am declared to be "doing well" per my labs in spite of all the things I have working against me. Age is not the least of them.

Of course, the "people of note" are people I have heard of.

Like music, I have that which I remember and that which I ignore. Most of those are decade-relative.

I do not, for instance, distinguish between Christina Aguilera and any others of her ilk. They are all processed sound to me. Similarly, while I recognize Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas, their vocal abilities are moot for me. All processed sound with nothing distinctive about any of them.

I must confess that I am completely in the dark when entertainment news comes up with stories about people of whom I have never heard and/or of whom I can work up zero interest.

That includes the Kardashians en masse.

Home from another hellish og! Around 11:10 or so, I called to ask about the car, which I had requested for 11:30. I was told he was at 23rd and Park Avenue and should be there in 20 minutes. Around 11:35 I called, and I was told he was at 88th Street and should be there soon. He arrived at 11:50, and I got to Lenox Hill around 12:05 or so. The radiation treatments were running late, so I wasn't o\n the table until 1:15 - usually this happens around 12:50 - which meant my 1:30 ride home was screwed. I was dressed and in the hospital lobby by 1:45, and I checked my phone. My 1:23 ride had shown up early, around 1:10!

So, I called Access-a-Ride, explained the mess, and a car arrived around 10 minutes later. The driver was great, and he listened to classical music, whch calmed me down and made me really happy.
