I need to stop using the computer until my eyes return to normal.  Everything is blurred making me nauseated.

At least the new ophthalmologist told me my eyes look healthy even if they hurt all the time :)

Jane, my eyes often feel irritated when they're dry. Are yours dry? I had the problem before cataract surgery, but it was much worse after. I'd mentioned it to my doctors, but no one told me it might be dryness until after the surgery when dryness is very common. I couldn't live without eye drops. I also take a couple supplements that help.

I had a breathing treatment that was REALLY relaxing.  I found myself breathing more deeply, and cleanly, than i can remember doing in quite some time.

I was asked questions, huffed and puffed into gizmos to test my lung capacity, etc.

The doctor told me my breathing is very impaired and set out prescribing a course of treatments to correct it and make my life much, much better.

While VA will cover everything, and fill the presccriptions, it will take a few weeks for the VA to get anything to me.  Therefore, I told them to notify Walmart of my needs and gave them my United Health Care account info to cover the costs.

Surprise, surprise.  This insurance company, which hasn't had a single charge from me in more than four years, but whom I have been paying monthly, REFUSED to cover the costs to any degree.

Walmart said they would send a fax to the doctor and have him verify that the medications are essential for my well-being, or something of that nature.

We shall see.  It will take another day or so.

Otherwise, United Health Care can kiss my tushy.

I have United Healthcare and have been pleased overall with them. But I'm in a Medicare Advantage plan and that could make a difference. Have you tried calling them? I've called many, many times and the reps are usually pretty good, much better than my previous plan. If I get a dud, I just call back another time. You should at least be told WHY they're not covering your expenses.

Is anyone out there a fan of the Sister Boniface mysteries that air on Amazon Prime?

I have watched two of them, and find I cannot be bothered.

She is extremely annoying.  But, maybe I am missing something.

Sister Boniface -- what a disappointment! I have been hungry for a new favorite series or three and looked forward to SB, thinking she might be that. No. I don't find her annoying, but I do have trouble hearing her. She speaks rather quickly, too quickly as far as I'm concerned, and too softly. I can hear the men just fine. I watch on my laptop -- can't be bothered with a TV -- and the volume is already at it's highest. (Twice now I've purchased little external speakers, but can never get them to work.) So no to Sister B!

One thing I forgot about my appointment this morning:

When I was weighed, they asked me what my normal weight was.  I responded honestly.

I was 25 pounds UNDER that weight.

Golly.

Do you think this was because you had that nasty sinus thing for so long? I know from personal experience that medical issues can cause a reduction in food intake, followed by significant weight loss. Are you happy with the new weight? Had you noticed a difference in how your clothes fit?

I've been watching LOVE AND MARRIAGE on Acorn TV. I like the concept: a grandmother retires and decides it's time to make some changes to her life. But her family about drives me nuts! Selfish, inconsiderate, and dump everything on her. I didn't expect to make it through the first episode. But I know not to judge a show on just the first episode and now it's a bit better. And I'm desperate for decent drama. (Fictional drama, you understand.)

One of the reasons I felt it was time to see an ophthalmologist, in case I need cataract surgery.  I don't need it yet.  Oddly he wasn't concerned about it making my dry eye problem worse.  My optometrist was concerned.  I was hoping he would suggest something better than Restasis.  He felt it was still the best one to use though I could try going off of it later.  He was instant, not that I was surprised, that the one non prescription moisture drops I use be switched out for the one time tube without preservatives.  I really hate those little tubes but will do as he said.

My eyes were dilated at 10:00 this morning.  They are finally beginning to feel somewhat normal.

We have begun watching AFTER LIFE with Ricky Gervais.  Also in the cast is Penelope Wilton from Downton Abbey.  A friend recommended this three season series which just ended, and so far we are happy she did.

Started Dick Johnson Is Dead, a documentary about the filmmaker trying to spend quality time with her father, who has dementia. She makes a movie in which they enact various scenarios in which he might die, starting with an air conditioner falling out of nowhere.

Congrats.  Did you lose weight or is your scale off?

I just had a thought...hopefully, it's not an indicator of a medical issue.  I lost about 15 pounds without trying, and that turned into a diagnosis of diabetes. :-\

I've always found getting used to a new car a bit tricky, especially when doing something like backing up. In fact, when I buy a  new-to-me car I'll go to a relatively empty parking lot that has lines to mark the spaces and pull into a space, trying to be right in the middle. Then I get out and check. Just one of the reasons I prefer to keep my cars a long, long time.

I'm concerned about that, too.  My new car is going to be longer that my Escort that I've had and driven for almost 24 years.  I don't know by how much, though.

And I don't think I've driven a different stick shift in more than 20 years!  Automatics, yes, but not manual transmissions.

I have been watching a video of the beautiful 100 year old Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan burn.  It was close to where we lived and I did attend a few luncheons there.  The club has hosted many US Opens over the years.  While the building might possibly be replaced, the memorabilia inside is lost.
