Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke lovingly of Tony Walton, and now it is time for you to post until the sad cows come home.

We'll play ten performances over three weekends, ending on Sunday, March 20.  But then on Monday, March 28, I'm supposed to start rehearsals for Evergreen Playhouse's production of Mamma Mia!

Those performances will be in May...and it opens the day after my birthday!  What a great (if unintentional) birthday present...to be performing onstage after more than a few years again!

T did not sleep very well. An excruciating pain has developed, out of nowhere, in my left wrist. I am typing with only my right hand.

For those who asked, here  is the Rancho Gordo website:
https://www.ranchogordo.com/

It is a farming estate located in Napa, CA devoted to growing and distributing exotic and heirloom beans. A subscription, for which there is about a one year plus waitlist, means that you will get a quarterly box of assorted product. One can also buy from them directly, non-subscription, whatever is in stock.

They have a series of cookbooks as well as many resources and recipes.

I slept rather well, given that something's pinched in my lower left back, and movement is really painful.

In 1994. my phone rang, and when I picked it up, a voice I did not recognize asked, Is this Larry Moore?

I said, yes, it was, and the voice said, This is Tony Walton. I've just listened to "Unsung Sondheim" and your orchestrations are fantastic!

After a pause, I asked, Who is this really?

Well, it actually was Tony Walton. I don't believe I actually met him until Twiggy's album. When he was designing the revival of Annie Get Your Gun, he told me I should be doing the orchestrations and urged me to call John McDaniel, who, despite his assurances to submit me, never did. Tony did, however, did ask me to orchestrate Where's Charley? at Goodspeed in 2004. His production was hilarious, everything John Doyle's maladroit production for Encores! should have been.

He tried to get Busker Alley off the ground for Jim Dale - I was going to orchestrate it - but it never took. I didn't see him after that, but last year the cast of Where's Charley? and I had a Zoom meeting with him and Gen for his birthday. He was a very dear man.

Great tributes to Mr. Walton. Grand Hotel had a magnificent set. And of course, his work on Mary Poppins was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Kitty cleanup is over. I'm taking the trash to the basement and walking to my bank for more Access-a-Ride singles. I think I'll get $40 worth since I have several appointments requiring AAR coming up.
