I stopped by Third Generation at 11 a.m. to get some lunch.  Baked catfish, grits, cabbage and black-eyed peas.  Brought it home and ate in front of the TV.  Had unsweetened iced tea.

That sounds great, even if I haven't had catfish in a hundred years.

It was very tasty. They will also fry-to-order if you want it fried.  My favorite thing they cook, though, is fried chicken.   As ubiquitous as fried chicken is in the south, Third Generation's is the best I've tasted.

Costco and BJ's gas price is up from $3.43 when I filled up five days ago, to $3.59. I doubt that happened all in one jump, but I don't know because I hadn't been by there since last weekend.

I'll be filling up tomorrow morning for my last two trips to Poughkeepsie and back, and I believe I am going to be feeling, as the saying goes, Pain at the Pump.

Happily, I filled up my pickup yesterday.  The price per gallon went up 11 cents overnight here in SC.

Many people don't know that in the original draft, the line "I am Spartacus!" was actually "I am Angus!"

The interview thing with Cindy was amazingly fun. I'll try to find out where and when it goes up - it's for Rotten Tomatoes and this woman LOVES the movie - saw it when it came out.

That' so cool!

Then I picked up a fantastic package I've been waiting for - several ORIGINAL Harvey Schmidt cover paintings for the Ben Bagley albums - they're incredible and off to the framers we go. There's one hand-colored Xerox thing, but all the others are the original paintings from scratch - those are the ones I'll frame and they're just beautiful.

Wow! Congrats, BK!

I don't remember if it's been mentioned yet, but JAY Records is finally releasing another "new" recording that was recorded more than 25 years ago:

JAY commenced the first complete recording of the original version of the musical with the original orchestrations by Philip J. Lang at Abbey Road Studios, London on October 5 1996 and completed it at Clinton Recording Studios, New York on October 19 1996. It was released on April 8 2022.

I got mine at the Dollar Tree - when it was still The Dollar Tree.....it's nice and blue and fits very well even after almost 8 years.

You are lucky.  I found older styles stretch out after awhile.

I loved Walton's art direction for 1978 movie version of "The Wiz".

Yes. Wonderful designs.

Ushering for the ballet tonight. Fewer than 300 tickets sold for tonight. More than 30 ushers. Light night.

The San Antonio Ballet is doing Don Quixote.

Judging from the posts, many of us are feeling worse than usual. I blame the planets.

Vibes to all of us to feel better pronto!

May each of us have a pleasant, productive day.

If not, let's try not to slash, maim or kill anyone.

Why take all the fun out of it?

(Sorry if that seems offensive--just an attempt at humor)
