I have had many such dreams in which my car, wallet, or phone have been whisked away. It’s undeniable how unsettling it all is, and what an incredible relief it is to awaken from those.

I should add that the sudden dream disappearance of each of those items, individually, is based in reality...whether just the fear that it’s really happened or, in the case of my phone in 2013, the reality of having accidentally thrown it into a city trash can along with my takeout lunch plate and napkin and soda can.

I once carried two sets of keys, one had all the keys I needed for work. Home, church. My moms house etc

The other set was just my car keys

One morning I came out of the house, locked up, threw the garbage out, brought the can to the curb and drove to work

But I was unable to get in because I didn't have my keys in my pocket, or purse, or car

The true horror of what I must have done hit me and I drove home in a panic, probably (My apologies to my fellow motorists) not unlike BKs SUV driver

Our sanitation workers had been right on time, and I sadly brought the empty trash can back into its place at the head of the driveway and drove back to work

Sorry for my absence yesterday   I never got a text my friend Robin sent me and had to hurry to get ready yesterday morning.  We were gone all day   A group of Barbra fans met at the new Academy Museum and we took pictures on the "Barbra Streisand Bridge," toured the Museum and had dinner

My phone battery loses power very quickly.  I have one of those portable chargers but it too  is now on its last legs.  We stopped at CVS and got another one .  I hope it works well

Anyway, my friends and I had a great time at "L.A. Now and Then" Friday night!  The opening number is so lively and infectious and really puts the audience in a good mood.

Happy Sunday, everyone!  There's a new Broadway Radio Show up on the site for your listening pleasure.  I am joined by the talented Matt Gould to chat about Witness Uganda, both the musical and the recently released cast recording.  Matt and I also chat about his other new musical Lempicka, which will be playing at La Jolla Playhouse this summer.  Tune in for great conversation and some wonderful music!

My friend Leonard really loved "The Black Dahlia" and "Midnight at the Roxy" and the song that mentioned the freeways.  "The Whimsey Works"  was a favorite of mine.

The performers were terrific and I was especially impressed by Jeffrey Rockwell's dialogue about being gay in the '60's.   Lisa Dyson looked like someone you've seen as a sidekick in a sitcom and was great talking about the Pan-Pacific Auditorium

It was so great seeing BK.  He had me laughing right from the start of our conversation.   I hope more people find out about the show.  It's great fun!

I am taking a "low" Sunday respite.  Am not at church this morning.

Revival starts tonight, and I will be attending that.  Four nights of a different preacher and music director.

That should clear the cobwebs I feel overtaking me.

DR George, are you up incredibly early this morning, or still up from last night?

It was a split-shift.  I nodded off, then woke up and couldn't get back to sleep at first so I posted, but needed to sleep more, so I tried to, and now I just woke up again.

I think I got a total of six hours, too.

This all reminds me of a question I have:

Stage Door is re-releasing the Broadway cast recording of Carnival loaded with a bunch of extras. The cast recording itself will be a copy of a stereo reel-to-reel tape, which, given no other details, I’m assuming to be a standard quarter-track 7-1/2 ips commercial release. I wondered why that’s even necessary, but it looks like the standard CD of the original cast is out of print. I have the CD on the Polydor label, and — the nice extras notwithstanding — I’m wondering if Stage Door’s tape copy is presumed to be an improvement over the Polydor. (It looks like it’s also turned up on a couple of other labels over the years.)

I love that show.  I played Jacquot in a local production back in the '90s.

I also have that Polydor Carnival release, but I won't mind the new bonus tracks. :)

Hi, Larry and ChasSmith!

DR Geoge, get to bed! Is your cat keeping you up?

I did.  Sadly, I don't have a cat...yet.  Someday.
