I forgot to mention that I watched a terrible 1979 film on MGMHD this morning, starring Elliot Gould, Cybill Shepherd and, the only good thing about it, Angela Lansbury.
It was the gosh-awful remake of "The Lady Vanishes". Shepherd simply kills the entire movie with the ludicrous banter they give her to utter, and the script is full of oohings and ahhings over her looks and her body and her legs, and she seems to believe it's all true. The woman couldn't act her way out of an empty theater.
So disgustingly trite and contrived. I don't believe Elliot Gould has ever been so repugnant, although I did try to watch "The Long Goodbye" and found the static scenes of him driving or just looking at things as gosh-awful as Shepherd fawning all over herself.
What a crappy day of movie-watching.
