I find it hard to believe the novel made it to the long list for the Man Booker Prize.

It’s about an undereducated girl from Oakland who becomes a prostitute. She narrates. At times, she talks street. At times, she belabors descriptions, like that of the nondescript police station. She’s never been there, or much of any place before, but she has a grandiloquent vocabulary to describe its dullness.

I've written a few private messages on Facebook to people I'd like to use in the web series - and they don't respond. You know, they get notified when there's a PM, that's how it works. I will never understand people. I mean, I'd understand if they hadn't posted in a week or two, but when there are posts from a few minutes before, well - and then I post on their wall to check their PMs. Nothing. On to the next.
