DR George I was the only one wearing a mask at my book discussion group.  I guess they figured my N94 mask was sufficient, and they knew I was negative.

The fellow who lives in the back house brought me some peanut butter covered Trader Joe's popcorn. It's pretty damn tasty.

I am not going to tell Keith about this.  He would want some.

We made a quick trip to our former pastor's house, who lives about a mile away. He and his wife hadn't seen my grandson since he retired.

Former pastors are not allowed to be in contact with church members for a period of time. This gives the new pastor time to get established and the congregation adjusts to going to the new pastor for their needs. Mrs. Former Pastor in particular misses the children.

That's nice you could go visit.  It seems hard not having contact, something that wouldn't be possible in a small town.

I thought it begins next year.  Are you still having issues with it?

Laura, we are supposed to have the same policy with retiring or departing ministers, but we merely made the retiring minister a pastor emeritus, so he could stay nearby.

Just spoke with his nurse in recovery.  They do not yet have a room for him, he has also tested positive for flu so they need to give him a single room.

They don’t allow visiting in the recovery area, but she will call me as soon as he is put in a room

It sounds like he picked up the flu in the hospital  

Does he have his phone and charger?

Ironically, Bill having the flu actually turned out to be a good thing.

In the ER, instead of being in a crowded, noisy,  curtained area he was in a private room with a glass door that kept out outside sounds, with his own TV and control over his lighting preferences

DR Chas your Halloween sounds nice.  I wore a mask while we watched tv and sat far away from Keith.

TOD: I watched Creature From the Black Lagoon when I was a kid. It scared me for quite some time. I learned young not to watch scary movies.

I did not watch scary movies until Keith insisted.  The first movie we watched together was The Blob and I was a mess.  To my surprise I loved it, as he knew I would.

No, he tested positive for flu when he was brought in, but he doesn't have and symptoms except an occassional cough.

He tested negative for covid though

I arranged for him to have a "house phone" which does not receive calls but which allows him to make calls.

I am glad he doesn't have typical flu symptoms and it got him a private room.  Yay for the negative covid results.

The movie that scared me when I was a kid was Beware! The Blob.  I couldn't watch more than probably the first 15 minutes or so.

Very good news.  I just out that my friend pug is positive again.  She had a VERY bad time of it last time...and it lasted a long time.  Hopefully, it won't, this time!

I loved the original Blob with Steve McQueen. And the remake with Shawnee Smith had some good laughs, as I recall.
