We were out driving last night and the wind made our car swerve out of our lane.

Wow!

We were dispatched to pick up chips and guacamole from the local Mexican restaurant on Saturday and I was almost knocked over by the wind as we walked to the car.

I can believe it.  These days I have to be careful not to get knocked over, especially when using an umbrellas as the wind picks me off the ground.

When I was young I thought it was great fun when the wind lifted me up off the ground thanks to my open umbrella.

Ive' been going and doing since arising. Went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to get new sheets - not a single set of California King sheets in the store and none can be ordered - I was told confidentially that this is because BB and B stiffed vendors and can't get any more product. So, I came home and ordered a set via Amazon - probably the smart way to go as they can be returned easily if I don't like 'em.

A number of years ago when we switched out our mattress it was about impossible to get California King sheets so we went with a regular king bed.  Now they seem easier to get again.  I guess because I am looking online.

It took a long time for me to get used to the width of a regular king.  Then we got Sherlock who liked to sleep between us instead of at our feet.

I was told by the saleslady that the reason the sheets tear (she said they should NEVER ever tear) is because she of the Evil Eye is clearly drying them on "hot." THAT is the problem and I will tell her to dry on medium from now on.

Hot makes them shrink, and then tear at the corner cuz they are too hot.  I am not sure how else it would make them tear, unless they are old.

Sheets will arrive tomorrow.

What did you order?  There are soooo many fabrics to choose from these days.

As perhaps it was for Robot Monster that he was credited on screen as Elmer Bernstien.

DR TCB - I liked the movie of MY POLICEMAN.....it certainly had some good things going for it....

SPOILER ALERT - IF YOU'RE THINKING OF WATCHING THE MOVIE SKIP THE REST OF THIS POST.....SKIP IT.....

I was appalled that the wife was given a happy ending with a martyr's final shot - and there was no need to confess what she had done - anyone in the audience who didn't know she had written the letter has never seen a movie......I don't know if I want to read the book or not.

It may just be more I did it and I'm glad.......but who knows.

So - I liked the movie EXCEPT for that.

We stopped at a convenience store in northwest Indiana and I bought 2 bottles of water.  Had to wait in line for one of the 2 cashiers and I was the only one buying something other than lottery tickets.

Temps in the 40's tonight......

I bought the birdies a treat stick.....it is hanging from the ceiling of their cage and they are looking at it as though it might attack them any moment....

However I do notice that a few seeds have been eaten from it.....they must do it when I am out of the room.

I must say that I think my washer and dryer are too small to handle my Queen size sheets - and definitely my queen size comforter and duvet......those are taken to the BIG laundromat and done in the BIG machines.

But the label does indeed say wash in warm water only.

Some sheets now say wash in cold wash and cool dryer as to not shrink them.  I am not doing that again. A cool dryer takes hours to dry the sheets.

I was going to have a glass of wine with my spaghetti for lunch.

I filled my glass and there was a swallow left in the bottle - I raised it to my lips and swallowed it down just as the mailman walked past the the door......

Just keeping the neighborhood entertained.  It's my job.

I've sent Ann an email asking her to pick up $10 worth of Powerball tickets for me. If I win, so will a lot of friends.

I bought three tickets for $6 today

Monday evening greetings!  We have returned from a weekend trip to Wheaton, Illinois, where the main event was Hannah's baptism yesterday.

May God bless Hannah and her family
