SORRY/GRATEFUL
« on: November 27, 2022, 12:04:35 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both sorry and grateful, not necessarily in that order, and now it is time for you to post until the sorry/grateful cows come home.

Today, I'm working concessions again for The Nutcracker.  I will probably go in and watch some of it.  I didn't last night.  We'll see how I feel about it.

Last night I slept better than I usually do. I had a strange dream that I lived in an apartment on Eighth Avenue around 45th Street. I could climb in and out of a window and be on Eighth Avenue. Everything is vague now about the dream's contents, but there was a movie theatre and a flood in my apartment  and another that didn't seem to alarm me.

My feet have been causing problems the past few days. I don't know if it's arch support issues, but standing on my feet is a tortuous ordeal, and I am concerned.

I missed practice last week. I wonder if I’ve played the piece before.

Setup, sitzprobe and tech today.

Easy peasy compared to the last one! - but it’s still a huge day to get through.

In fact, it’s just me and the drummer today. Our bass player is out of the country and will join tomorrow.

I always thought I’d remembered a Del Taco from the 1970s, but an address check revealed it to be an El Taco. I wonder if I really knew Del Taco or if it was even around then. Must educate myself on this matter.

I don’t know if that would be the same thing that BK is talking about, anyway.

Is it just me or does "sitzprobe" sound like a very unpleasant medical procedure?

It's going to be our warmest day in weeks, with a high near 73.

It is also gray, stormy and will be so all day with high winds until around midnight.

Thus saith the weather man.

Del Taco was definitely around in the 70s. Folks get addicted to them.  Compared to Taco Bell, the Del Taco taco seems to me to be swimming in grease and lacking in flavor.

But, maybe it's just the one I went to in San Diego.

I cannot, for the life of me, find any Christmas spirit.

I may refrain from decorating again this year.

I think that's true of many German words.
