Good Evening!

I ended up picking up Andy, and we headed out for sushi - which was good - and a movie, "Madagascar", which was good too.  All those references to older movies and TV shows - including "The Twilight Zone" - were very funny, but I could tell they were going over almost everyone else's head in the theatre, since no one else was laughing when I was.  Ah, well...

;)

One interesting thing about "Madagascar" - There were no "Coming Attractions" shown before the movie.

???

I guess there aren't any real family-friendly features due out this Fall and Winter, at least in the same vein as "Madagascar".  Or maybe since the showing started at 9:25, they wanted to make sure to get the kiddies home at a decent hour.

But, again, we both enjoyed the movie.

DR George - You're welcome.  My pleasure.

OH!

And she told me that Moxie will most definitely be going into the studio - at least once they find a suitable replacement for Cheryl.

DR JMK - "Art Isn't Easy"?  or the bridge from "Another Hundred People"?  Or..??

*At first I thought you were talking pitches...."Hmmm..What Sondheim song begins with an arpeggiated major chord over and over again? Then, I realized you were talking about fingerings.  -At least I hope it's fingerings.

My fingering nightmare has always been "Franklin Shepherd, Inc." from Merrily.

However, I do have to say that the piano/vocal score for Passion definitely requires some practice.

Matt H, we watched the first few episodes of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and stopped.  I really like Mary McDonnell in the show. Unfortunately Starbuck's character & the scripts didn't do it for us.

Obviously, my standards are lower. ;) I watch it and I've been enjoying it.  No, it's not the greatest thing on TV, but it's something to watch on Fridays, especially now since "Law and Order:  Trial By Jury" has been cancelled.

Did Laurel happen to say why Cheryl didn't want to do it any more?

...And it looks like the next two weeks will be quite filled employment-wise.

:)

And I'll also be earning more Amtrak points in the process too.  After checking the e-mails I received tonight, it looks like I'm playing auditions here in DC this week, Tuesday-Thursday.  Then I'm heading to NYC on Friday.  Then back down to DC Sunday night to play more auditions down here Monday.  Then back up to NYC to play auditions up there Tuesday-Friday.

I guess the monitors at the Equity building will finally get to know me by face.

:)

I didn't ask.  But from her tone, it didn't seem like anything scandalous.  Just something very matter of fact.

I've just been tallying the results of our informal TOD poll (with a few precincts yet to report). There were 52 songs mentioned (not counting honorable mentions and songs that just missed the cut. The top of the charts looks like this:

1. (6 votes) Our Time
2. (tie, 5 votes) Losing My Mind
Someone In A Tree
4. (tie 4 votes) Being Alive
Comedy Tonight
Every Day a Little Death
Move On
Not a Day Goes By
9. (tie, 3 votes) Another Hundred People
Ladies Who Lunch
Miller’s Son
Sunday
What Can You Lose

I wish we could do a performance that had the sound AND the lights done correctly.....not one or the other.

New notes are up.  I may have to have some pineapple tomorrow - one of the few fruits I really like.
