I got a text from my supervisor about 15 minutes before I was supposed to be at work that she was taking the day off! Wait...aren't we supposed to have today off as New Year's Day observed??
Nope! State workers (like my sister) get it off, but we're not state workers!
I (MOST fortunately) was at least awake, so I rushed myself into the shower, quickly got dressed, then (safely) rushed myself to work just in time to realize that I forgot my key card!
Fortunately (again), I could just walk around to the back of the building and be let in there, so I was able to make it in time! WHEW!!
